The project was targeted around raising money and awareness for our New Mexican and National Heroes (service men/women, veterans, wounded warriors, national guardsmen, first responders, police, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians, search and rescue, etc.). This was accomplished through various ways within the community; one of which being the UNM Greek system uniting as a whole and utilizing our networks of alumni to philanthropically fundraise within Albuquerque for our great state's Heroes. KOAT Channel 7 provided over $125,000 worth of promotional advertising for the event, in which several prominent Greek alumni were featured within; along with several other community sponsors such as Frontier Restaurant. In total, the UNM Greek community was able to raise and donate over $12,000 to local New Mexican charities, such as The Henderson House and the National Guard Association of New Mexico as well as raise and donate over $10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project via their textto donate campaign. Overall, it was an incredibly successful project that was able to create and impact and provide help to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms that Americans possess each and every day. Phi Gamma Delta is proud to have been a part of this incredible project and to have had the pleasure of working with many of the incredible leaders within the UNM Greek community on both the undergraduate and alumni levels. The two day event brought in an estimated $4,000 in toy and monetary donations, which 100% of proceeds were donated. With the donations from this year over $10,000 dollars in toys and cash has been raised in four years. This year the Delta Zeta Chapter of the Kappa Sigma held its 4 th annual Karoling for the kidΣ, a charity event that helps collect toy and monetary donations to be donated to the Toys for Tots organization. FRATERNITY ROLL CALL

Alpha Tau Omega

EXPOSING SUCCESS IN UNM IFC GREEK COMMUNITY

ATO Holds Sexual Assault Awareness Event

HOMECOMING 2015

Kyle  Stepp  of  Alpha  Tau  Omega  was  elected  Homecoming  King  2015,  along  with  Queen  Mariah  Gomez  of  the

Pi  Beta  Phi  Sorority.

Nate  Armstrong  of  Pi  Kappa  Alpha  and  Rene  Lopez  of  Phi  Delta  Theta  respectively  made  Homecoming  Court  representing

the  Interfraternity  Council.

A  total  of  4,129  cups  were  placed  on  the  ground  in  Smith  Plaza.  There  were  3,760  red  cups  to  represent  the  1  in  4  female  Lobos  that  risk  being  affected  by  sexual  violence  in  their  lifetime.  The  remaining  369  blue  plastic  cups  represent  the  1  in  33  male  students  who  will  experience  some  form  of  sexual  assault.

The  Alpha  Tau  Omega  Fraternity  set  up  thousands  of  plastic  Solo  cups  in  Smith  Plaza  on  October  26th  to  start  a  conversation  about  sexual  assault  on  college  campuses.  The  Solo  cups  represented  students  at  UNM  that  could  experience  sexual  violence  in  their  lifetime.  While  the  plastic  Solo  cups  are  commonly  associated  with  alcohol  consumption  by  college  students,  ATO  and  LoboRESPECT  wanted  to  send  a  stronger  message  to  students.    90  percent  of  college  rapes  occur  when  alcohol  is  involved.

Through  this  project,  Alpha  Tau  Omega  wanted  to  bring  awareness  to  LoboRESPECT,  an  advocacy  center  on  campus  that  provides  a  safe  and  welcoming  environment  for  students  to  receive  support  and  advocacy  services  for  a  number  of  areas.  The  group  raises  awareness  about  epidemics  students  face,  one  of  the  biggest  being  sexual  assault.  Alpha  Tau  Omega  saw  the  need  as  men  to  stand  up  against  sexual  violence  and  send  a  big  message  that  we  need  to  stop  the  silence  and  make  a  change  about  sexual  violence  on  our  campus.

“The  conversation  about  sexual  assault  needs  to  happen.  It’s  on  us  as  students  to  stop  it.  The  only  way  to  stop  it  is  to  talk  about  it.  It’s  time  for  us  to  protect  the  pack.”  –  Alpha  Tau  Omega

That  day  over  1,000  UNM  students  took  the  stand  with  ATO  and  pledged  “Not  On  My  Campus”  to  end  sexual  assault  on  our  campus.

The  Alpha  Tau  Omega  Fraternity  went  above  in  beyond  with  a  recent  philanthropy  project  to  help  UNM  Children's  Hospital.  Their  philanthropy  chair,  Alexander  Kapp  aimed  to  collect  needed  materials  such  as  toys,  books,  and  clothing.  They  decided  to  take  it  one  step  further  by  also  making  handmade  fleece  tie  blankets  for  every  kid  in  the  Children’s  Hospital!  However  with  a  project  this  large  it  could  not  be  accomplished  through  one  organization,  it  was  with  the  help  of  several  other  organizations,  both  Greek  and  Non-‐Greek  that  made  the  impossible  a  reality.

With  the  help  of  Phi  Delta  Theta,  Chi  Omega,  Kappa  Kappa  Gamma,  National  Society  of  Collegiate  Scholars,  LoboTHON  and  Alpha  Chi  Omega  an  estimated  100  toys,  300  books,  175  articles  of  clothing  and  100  blankets  were  donated.  Representatives  from  each  group  had  the  joy  and  honor  of  providing  these  items  to  all  of  the  sick  and  injured  kids  at  UNM  Children’s  Hospital.  Going  room-‐to-‐room  bringing  kids  happiness  and  even  putting  a  smile  to  the  parent's  faces  as  well,  was  one  of  the  most  rewarding  experiences  to  be  had.  Through  large  projects  like  this  and  coming  together  as  one  campus  we  can  really  make  a  difference  wherever  our  community  needs  us  most.

The  Clubhouse  of  Horrors  was  joined  by  Rockstar  Energy  who  served  drinks  and  Cheba  Hut  who  have  gave  out  sandwiches  and  other  goodies.  The  event  included  a  candy  car,  a  DJ  and  a  haunted  house,  which  covered  most  of  the  clubhouse  and  used  both  up  and  downstairs.
