TIME FOR LENT

Hello Everybody, I hope that everyone is doing good and I am glad to reach with a message. As we are aware, we are in February. This month reminds us three important events, such as; the presentation of the Lord and the feast of St. Valentine and the season of Lent. This week, I draw your attention to focus on the season of Lent. The scripture says, “Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God. For he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and relenting in pun-ishment” [Jl 2:13]. In fact, this Bible verse reminds us to meditate upon it frequently, gradually, profoundly and deliberately as well. Of course, the season of lent is an awesome occasion, grace-filled time, moment of recognizing God’s love for us and enabling us to come back to the Lord. Primarily, let us comprehend what is not Lent: Lent is not one-day celebration instead; it prolongs up to the Easter vigil celebration. Lent is not a Church program for forty days in-stead; it is an intensive time to make the self-realization. Lent is not the moment of praying and doing penance instead; is a moment of identifying the need of our neighbor.

Secondly, Lent is a period of observing 3 R’s: The first ‘R’ stands for Repentance: It expects not only the change of heart but also the change of one's attitude. It also implies to make a personal journey to forsake one’s sins and to enter into the fellowship with God. St. Maximillian Golpe says, “God’s will is to save us and nothing pleases him more than our coming back to him with true repentance”. The second ‘R’ stands for the Renewal: It denotes to inter ior-ize in every sphere of life. In particular, it demands us to renew our relationship with God, with neighbor and with the nature as well. For, we do knowingly or unknowingly harm and hurt in the above fields, hence the season calls us to evaluate our life again in the view of word of God completely. The third ‘R’ stands for Recommitment: It invites for restruc-turing our lives with the three traditional practices of Lent such as; prayer, fasting and Almsgiving. In fact, Prayer is meant to build an intimate communion with God and humans, and it is also meant to realizing our true selves. Fasting awakes us up to be more atten-tive to God and our neighbor. Almsgiving sets us free from greedy and helps us to think of our brothers and sisters. Therefore, the Lent is undoubtedly a significant moment, a time to make an interior Journey. To which, the above spiritual practices radically facilitate to refine our emotions, to rectify our errors and to reform our lives in faith. Consequently, we would be rewarded with the gift of peace of the risen Christ. God bless you!!!.

TIEMPO PARA LA CUARESMA

Hola a todos! Yo espero que todos se encuentren bien y estoy contento para llegar con un mensaje.

Como sabemos, estamos en febrero. Este mes nos recuerda tres eventos importantes, tales como; la presentación del Señor, la fiesta de San Valentín y el tiempo de Cuaresma. Esta semana, los invito a todos para prestar su atención al

tiempo de Cuaresma. Dice la escritura, vuélvanse ustedes al señor su Dios, y desgárrense el corazón en vez de desgarrarse la ropa! Porque el señor es tierno y compasivo, paciente y todo amor, dispuesto siempre a levantar el castigo [Jl 2:13]. De hecho, este versículo de la Biblia nos guía a meditar sobre el significado con frecuencia, poco a poco, profunda y deliberadamente. Por supuesto, la temporada de Cuaresma es una ocasión maravillosa, un tiempo lleno de gracia, un momento para reconocer el amor de Dios por nosotros y permitirnos volver al Señor.

Principalmente, vamos a comprender lo que no es Cuaresma: La Cuaresma no es una celebración de un día, en cambio; se prolonga hasta la celebración de la vigilia pascual. La Cuaresma no son programas de la Iglesia durante cuarenta días, en cambio; es un tiempo intensivo para realizar la autorrealización. La Cuaresma no es el momento de rezar y hacer penitencia, en cambio; es el momento de identificar la necesidad de nuestro prójimo.

En segundo lugar, la Cuaresma es un período de observación de 3 cosas: La primera es Arrepentimiento: que espera no solo el cambio de corazón, sino también el cambio de actitud. Y también, lo que implica hacer un viaje personal para abandonar los pecados y entrar en comunión con Dios. Dice San Maximiliano Golpe que "La voluntad de Dios es salvarnos y nada le agrada más que nuestro regreso a él con verdadero arrepentimiento”.

La segunda es Renovación: que denota inter iorizar en todas las esferas de la vida. Particularmente, que nos exige renovar nuestra relación con Dios, con el prójimo y con la naturaleza. Porque, hacemos daño y lastimamos consciente o inconscientemente en los campos anteriores. Por lo tanto, el tiempo de cuaresma nos llama para evaluar nuestra vida nuevamente a la vista de la palabra de Dios completamente.

La tercera es Compromiso: que invita a reestructurar nuestras vidas con las tres prácticas tradicionales de la Cuaresma tales como; oración, ayuno y limosna. De hecho, la oración está destinada a construir una comunión íntima con Dios y los humanos y también está destinada para identificar nuestros personajes verdaderos. El ayuno nos despierta para estar más atentos a Dios y al prójimo y la limosna nos libera de la codicia y nos ayuda a pensar de nuestros hermanos y hermanas. Entonces, la Cuaresma es sin duda un momento significativo, un momento para hacer un Viaje interior. A lo cual, las prácticas espirituales anteriores facilitan radicalmente para refinar nuestras emociones, para rectificar nuestros errores y para reformar nuestras vidas en la fe. Consecuentemente, seremos recompensados con el don de la paz de Cristo resucitado. Dios los bendiga a todos!!!

EL CAMINO DE JESÚS Las lecturas de hoy presentan un contraste entre el “camino de Jesús” y el “camino viejo”. Un ejemplo del camino viejo es la ley que recibieron Moisés y Aarón acerca de la lepra: el leproso era impuro y se echaba fuera de la comunidad. El camino de Jesús es lo contrario: el leproso se acerca, es tocado y finalmente curado. Tampoco debemos pensar en el “camino viejo” como algo restringido a los días de Moisés y Aarón o incluso al “antiguo” testamento. La diferencia entre el camino anti-guo y el camino de Jesús surge en nuestra propia vida. Todavía elegimos, todos los días, a vivir siguiendo el ca-mino viejo o el camino de Jesús. Jesús se atrevió a tocar a un leproso, sin tener en cuen-ta el camino viejo. Así el leproso fue cambiado para siem-pre. Se sintió llamado. No podía dejar de proclamar que había sido tocado por Jesús (¡a pesar de que Jesús le dijo que no lo hiciera!). Una vez que Jesús nos toca, es-tamos llamados a proclamar su “camino”.

JESUS’ WAY Today’s readings present a contrast between “Jesus’ way” and the “old way.” An example of the old way is the law giv-en to Moses and Aaron about leprosy: the leper was unclean and cast out of the community. Jesus’ way is the opposite: the leper is reached out to, touched, and finally cured. Nor ought we think of the “old way” as restricted to the days of Moses and Aaron, or even to the “old” testa-ment. The difference between the old way and Jesus’ way arises in own lives. We still choose, every day, to live in our old way or in Jesus’ way. Jesus dared to touch a leper, disregarding the old way. The leper then was changed forever. He felt a calling. He couldn’t keep himself from proclaiming that he had been touched by Jesus (even though Jesus told him not to!). Once Jesus touches us, we are called to proclaim his way.

HOW CAN I CHOOSE CATHOLIC REFERENCES THAT ARE ACCURATE AND FAITHFUL?

One good way to determine whether or not a book or pamphlet accurately reflects Catholic doctrine is to look for an “imprimatur” printed in the first few pages of the book. The presence of an imprimatur generally means that a bishop’s office has determined it to be free of doc-trinal or moral errors. It may be accompanied by a “nihil obstat” (Latin for “nothing stands in the way”) which means that someone well-versed in Catholic theology has reviewed the contents and found the same thing. Keep in mind that neither the imprimatur nor the nihil obstat imply agreement with the content or opinions. It is particularly important for a book that purports to teach about the faith of the Church to carry the approval of the Catholic Church. There are many well-meaning people who intend to educate others about God’s infinite love but may have an imperfect understanding of Catholic

doctrine. When choosing materials to learn more about our religion, you will want to be sure that they are accurate.

¿CÓMO PUEDO ELEGIR REFERENCIAS CATÓLICAS QUE

SEAN PRECISAS Y FIELES? Un buen modo de determinar si un libro o folleto refleja exactamente la doctrina

católica es buscar el “imprimátur” impreso en las primeras páginas del libro. La presencia de un imprimátur indica por lo general que la oficina de un obispo ha determinado que está libre de errores doctrinales o morales.
