Knowing your brand, knowing your industry and knowing your audience is important to everything we do. For that reason, Research is intertwined into every step of our process. By scouring archives, interviewing staff and surveying consumers we can gather key insights about your brand. Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) is a holistic approach to strategy development. By strategically integrated the key elements of communications rather than have them operate independently we can increase their overall value and performance.

• Advertising Strategy – Advertising is the best known and most widely used tool for promotion. While its nature and purpose will vary across industries it is still the most cost-effective way to reach large audiences. Ignite! will develop an advertising strategy that is tailored to meet your goals and objectives. We are well versed in both digital and traditional advertising.

• Digital Marketing – Advances in technology over the past decade have ushered in a new age of connectivity. Consumers can interact with brands in ways were never possible before. Through the internet, mobile devices and new media we will devise a plan that will engage your brand in two-way communications with your target audience.

• Direct Marketing Strategy - Whether by email, mail, telemarketing, direct selling, catalogs or an infomercial on television any communication in which a brand communicates directly with consumers is considered Direct Marketing. We distribute releases to the local, regional, national and other relevant media outlets through a reputable news wire service. News releases are essential to a consistent public relations effort.

These announcements not only provide media with potential story ideas, they show momentum, create an understanding of your brand and help position you as an important presence in your industry.

While news releases may not always result in significant news articles, they are an excellent tool to keep media and other interested parties abreast of your work and progress.

Nonprofit - Oasis Church

The Purpose

Oasis Church is a multi-generational, multi-site, and multi-racial church with an increasing number of new members joining every week. With the growth that the church has experienced in the past couple years, the pastors implemented new programs geared towards strengthening marriages and the family dynamic, youth programs, along with other services.

The Process

They also opted to decrease their international giving and focus a great deal on giving monies and volunteerism locally. They wanted to increase their visibility locally with the goal of obtaining international visibility. Ignite recommended that the church earn media placement with the local media outlets by displaying its humanitarian efforts. Also, the church was advised not to compete for advertising space in ad-heavy local publications, but instead invest in public relations (with no advertising dollars) to maximize the limited bud- get. Our firm developed press kits, media pitches, feature and trend stories and general religious news for local media outlets.

The Payoff

Oasis Church, on several occasions, attained the media’s attention and was featured in print, digital and traditional media formats. One newspaper featured Oasis Church on the front page of the newspaper, which is a highly coveted placement.

Sports/Entertainment - Nate Washington TN Titans

The Purpose

Nate Washington’s nonprofit organization, Foundation 85, was in its third year supplying low income elementary & middle school children with hats, gloves, and coats. Warming Souls to Succeed in Life and its founder, Washington, wanted media coverage to broadcast and educate the public about his organization.

The Process

Despite being a well-known athlete, Washington had some difficulties in securing media placement in the past. Ignite was contracted three (3) days before the event. Through established media relationships, Ignite recommended the foundation to conduct a press conference in order to increase the amount of media coverage. Also, brief media training was suggested. Our firm developed a press kit and media pitch to local media outlets

The Payoff

Several media outlets were present to capture the excitement from the school administrators, foundation organizers and the children. Mr. Washington and his staff were very surprised and impressed with the quick response and media visibility. The story was featured, the same day, during the evening news.”

Public Affairs/ Politics - Jerry Maynard II Councilman-at-Large

The Purpose

Attorney Jerry Maynard sought to increase visibility and name recognition during his political campaign.

The Process

Ignite recommended Atty. Maynard to invest in public relations to maximize his limited budget. Suggested to host a free food and entertainment political rally, Maynard was able to meet and greet hundreds of voters. Our firm developed fact sheets, press kits, media pitches, feature stories and general political news for local media outlets.

The Payoff

Candidate Jerry Maynard gained over 41,000 votes during his campaign, which landed him a political seat.

Small Business - EGAP Realty

The Purpose

EGAP Realty Group and its founder, Page Turner Morton, wanted to inform the public about the grand opening of its new real estate office while educating new services that would be offered.

The Process

Ignite recommended that the real estate company host a Grand Opening Celebration while bridging two neighborhoods together. It was also suggested to engage other thriving businesses, in the area, to participate in the Grand Opening in order to increase the audience size. The historic neighborhoods, one mostly African-American and the other mostly affluent Caucasian, are currently undergoing some revitalization.

Because the event was a community affair, EGAP did not have to purchase any advertisements. We were able to get media placement within the community events section of various news print outlets. Also, four television news stations covered the occasion. Our firm developed press kits, media pitches, feature and trend stories and general real estate news for local media outlets.

The Payoff

EGAP Realty obtained more realtors after the event. The group grew from three realtors to a staff of nine, including a full-time office manager. Mrs. Turner-Morton was selected as the realtor of choice for 13 families from the event. Also, Mrs. Turner-Morton had enough interested candidates to enroll into a homebuyers class, which resulted in more properties being purchased.

Kaneesha D. Martin is Co-Owner and Chief Public Relations Strategist for Ignite!

Prior to the creation of Ignite!, Martin built a career creating and managing marketing & publicity campaigns, communications and special events for midsize and large organizations, in the fields of publishing, religious, healthcare, and public affairs.

Kaneesha has been invited to speak or conducted workshops for several local, regional and national organizations including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Black Girls Run, and Middle Tennessee State University School of Business.

Kaneesha holds a Master of Education in Marketing and Bachelor of Sciences in Business Administration degrees, both from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is a member of National Association of Black Journalists, Bootstraps Foundation, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and American Society of Training and Development.

Jason is Co-owner and Chief Integrated Marketing Strategist for Ignite!

As an accomplished marketing professional, Jason has served in marketing and management roles for 8 years, achieving and exceeding goals. He has created marketing plans for multi-million dollar product lines and he has provided guidance and strategic direction on an executive level.

Previous employers include United Methodist Communications, the global communications agency for the United Methodist Church where he worked as Marketing Coordinator managing 13 accounts for clients in the U.S. and Africa and the United Methodist Publishing House, which is home to the Christian retailer Cokesbury where he served as Marketing Manager for their vacation bible school and children’s Sunday School curriculum. Jason is also a hybrid entrepreneur, working in his position at Ignite! with his wife Kaneesha and as Director of Marketing for The Salvation Army in Nashville, TN.

Jason holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University and is a member of the American Marketing Association.
