“IIT. That’s where I long to belong.’’
You dream of belonging on an IIT Campus. A member of that
revered band of engineers-in-the-making. Each one determined to
blaze a trail somewhere in the future.
We, at Brilliant, understand and applaud your dream. For over four
decades now we've been assisting students like you in realising that
ultimate dream. Because we know that it takes much more than
dreaming to approach the daunting JEE with confidence.
In this battle fought by over 17.0 lakh contestants for a few thousand seats, you need to select the winning weapons. Brilliant's Correspondence Courses for students of Standard XII have been developed and honed over two decades. They are power-packed with theory and worked examples, with assignments comprised of problems in varying grades of complexity. There are also Postal Tests to help you evaluate the progress of your preparation, a Doubt Letter Scheme to help clear your doubts at any point during the course and B. MAT - Brilliant's Mock All-India Test Series to evaluate you against thousands of contestants all over India for the JEE.
A formidable arsenal of study material and support services to
help you take on the JEE with justified confidence. And get you
where you long to belong.
What does it take to beat the best and get into IIT?
Brilliance. Grit. Ambition.
And a course called Elite.
Every year lakhs of intelligent, hardworking, ambitious young men and
women burn with the desire to get into IIT. And the determination to
make it happen.
Elite is the one course that shares this determination. That converts it
into a carefully charted out and very real state of preparedness. That
turns your bright potential into a glowing confidence that assures your
success in the JEE.
Elite is, quite simply, an evolutionary marvel. Created in response to a
very real need for assistance in facing the irrefutably daunting JEE, the
Elite Course has grown in strength, content and dynamism. To equip
you, not only with the necessary knowledge, but the practised skill in
utilising that knowledge to acquire the problem–solving bent of mind so
essential to succeed in the JEE.
To begin with, the basic philosophy behind the Elite Course is to put
time firmly on your side. This is why the course is paced over 2 years,
using the less taxing Std. XI year to your greatest advantage.
Comprehensive Postal Lessons build up an unshakeable knowledge
base of the fundamentals. Assignments containing hundreds of
problems of varying complexity gradually sharpen your problem-solving
skills. 2 years’ Y.G. FILES challenge you with 3000 super-tough
problems. A committed ‘Doubt Letter Scheme’ allows you to clarify
doubts with our professors by post or e-mail.
1
While building up your foundation, the Elite Course simultaneously works
towards creating in you the calm, quick-thinking temperament needed to
perform in actual test conditions. Ten Progressive Postal Tests, 4
Progressive National Sit-down Tests and 3 Part Tests covering the full-
syllabus of selected topics all these heighten your level of preparedness.
Finally, you will actually tackle, again and again, question papers, testing
conditions, time factors and competition identical to those you will face
in the JEE 2017, through B.MAT's 10 Full-syllabus, home-based JEE
Simulator Tests (with sealed solutions) and 8 Full-Syllabus National Sit-
down Tests held in major cities.
Throughout the duration of your Elite Course, hundreds of researchers,
professors and support staff continue to work tirelessly to keep your
study materials up-to-date, your doubts clarified and your progress on a
swiftly moving course.
At the end of 2 years you will have completed the most systematic,
scientific and successful preparation for the JEE. You will approach it
with the same confidence that has fired thousands of Brilliant students,
year after year. And above all, you will know you have given yourself the
best chance of going out there and making it to the very top.

YG (“YOUNG GENIUS”) FILE
YOUR ACE OF TRUMPS
No preparation for JEE can be considered complete without
Brilliant's legendary Y.G. File
Objective
Preparation for the JEE involves intensive training in answering
objective type questions, and solving tough problems, both short and
long, combining speed with accuracy.
Whatever be the degree of preparation of the student, there is always an element of surprise in the actual JEE Question Paper. This element of surprise will stimulate, but not demoralise, if the student has had sufficient experience in tackling problems of the JEE standard. It is precisely this experience that our Y.G. File aims to provide.
The Compendium
The Y.G. File does not contain any detailed theory but it has hundreds of problems of the brain teasing type. To help solve Y.G. File problems, we provide a Ready Reference Compendium, a collection of important formulae, equations and data in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
All New Problems
Each year, Brilliant’s Y.G. File offers you a collection of 1500 tough problems
to tackle in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Y.G. File comprises Y.G. File
– Part I and Y.G.File – Part II, each consisting of objective questions in each
of the three subjects. The objective questions step-by-step will be presented
topic-wise, so that the student can attempt the problems in any topic as and
when he/she feels comfortable with his/her level of preparedness in that
particular topic. Questions and problems that cover more than a single topic
will be given together, at the end of each subject.
In Y.G. File - Part I, there will be a total of 750 Questions (250
Questions in each of the three subjects – Mathematics, Chemistry and
Physics). Y.G.File - Part II will have another 750 Problems on a similar pattern. The solutions to all the questions will be sent with the
respective questions.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY ......
June 10, 2010
The Test Series helped me prepare myself before the final IIT-JEE. It
helped me get the right temperament and focused mind required to give
two-three hour tests. The Course helped me tune my mind for the
actual exam. The problems helped in exhaustive topic coverage. The
Sit-down Tests are good. The course material provides necessary multi-
concept coverage and time bound practice. The Y.G File problems
helped in proper practice in the final stages of preparation. (A.I.R – 3)
Himanshu Gupta, EYGB10 – 02314

Brilliant’s books were very good, to the point, especially in Chemistry.
The Mind Maps are excellent. The online tests I appeared for were also
well-prepared. ELITE course helped me by giving me so many exciting
problems especially in chemistry. The tests gave me a good idea of my
strengths and weaknesses. The course I joined in class IX and X helped
me build my basic concepts. I would recommend the correspondence
course to others as all topics are covered in a small number of books.
Brilliant’s Chemistry books are excellent and they played a major role in
the drastic improvement that I underwent in organic chemistry in class
XI. (A.I.R – 5)

It was amongst the pivotal factors in my preparation. The YG File was full
of very logical questions which clearly brings a person on a level even
better than the IIT level. The extra classes organized also helped. And the
Test Series was very good and made me adapt in the JEE mode. It was
really helpful in the success. Which I experienced at JEE. The Test Series
was of a very good level and by far the best in the market. The Test Series
clearly matches with the required JEE line of thinking. The YG File was

The course was very helpful, particularly the Test Series. It was very useful
because the Part Tests were quite easy and helped us grip the finer nuances
of the subject in detail and the Full-syllabus Tests were quite brain-
consuming and really helped me in my preparation for the JEE. I would go
to the extent of saying that the Course was one of the things that helped
24
me concentrate and organize my brain so that I would crack the JEE. It
helped me get conditioned to the JEE pattern and also gave the finishing
touches to my preparation, making my knowledge more complete. The

Y.G File had very good problems which will be most useful if done
after the entire syllabus is completed. The B.MAT Tests were excellent.
Mathematics was quite tough in them. The Tests strengthened my grip
on the subject and I found them quite challenging. They also helped me
learn to manage my time better. The Course was very useful to me. I
believe that the course elevated my level to that of a ranker below 100 in JEE. The Sit-down Tests were quite tough and had original
problems. If a student is in need of proper problem sets or mock tests
then he should definitely take Brilliant’s course. I would recommend
students who are lacking proper exam temperament also to take
Brilliant’s courses. Brilliant’s course was instrumental to my success.
The Sit-down Tests I took were very useful to me. (A.I.R – 91)

The modules given by Brilliant were to the point. They covered all the
necessary topics in a very elegant manner. The YG File helped me to
get acquainted with the type of problems that were expected in JEE –
2010. Brilliant has played a vital role in my success and without it, it
would be difficult to get such a good rank. The Doubt Letter scheme is
excellent. There is no better way to clear your doubts. The tests
conducted were tough and some of the problems were of a very high
level. I feel YG-File is very important for any student’s success at IIT-
JEE. It covers all types of problems. In all subjects. Without the YG
File, a student’s JEE preparation is incomplete! I hope every IIT
aspirant chooses Brilliant’s 2-Yr. Elite program. (A.I.R – 144)

The course immensely helped me in my preparations. The questions
encountered were of an entirely different flavor which needed thought
process from all the angles to solve it. The quality offered is one of the
best I have encountered. The level of difficulty of question papers rose
gradually as we approached the JEE day. The Simulator Tests, etc. were
indispensable for our preparations. This course is a must for any JEE
aspirant especially when there’s so much to study and so little time.
