    ABSTRACT he present paper en)merates traditional ethno-veterinary nowledge ao)t 13 plant spe%ies elonging to 11

    genera and / amilies hidden among the lo%al inhaitants residing in the st)dy areas i.e. Ashti tal)a in !eed distri%t M.S.

    *ndia.2 these, seed in plants, lea in 4 plants, root in 1 plants, stem in 3 plants, r)it in plant and lower in 1 plant are )sedor ethno-veterinary p)rposes y the lo%al inhaitants he res)lts o this st)dy are organied in ta)late orm and in%l)de

    otani%al name ollowed y verna%)lar name, amily in parenthesis and ethno-veterinary )ses. he inormation was gathered

    rom 6 inormants, rom 15 villages )nder the )risdi%tion o Ashti tal)a o !eed distri%t thro)gh veral interviews in an

    inormal ways at their woring pla%es. he age o the inormants was in the range etween 17-(7 years. 2 these, inormanthaving age gro)p 6/-(7 4( 8 %laimed to have the ri%h ethno-veterinary nowledge. he emphasis has een laid on the

    s%ientii% validation o medi%inal properties o the native plants that are )sed in traditional medi%ation system o the pet animals

    to now and reward the traditional wisdom o the lo%al %omm)nities.

    *n re%ent years, interests in ethno-veterinary investigations have een in%reased enormo)sly on national andinternational level. An%ient ethnootani%al literat)re s)ggests that the trial, non-trial and r)ral pop)la%e has een

    )sing wild ethnolora sin%e long ago or %)ring vario)s diseases and disorders in the pet : domesti%ated animals. All

    these plants sho)ld e s%reened s%ientii%ally in order to investigate newer so)r%es o ethno-veterinary dr)gs and

    medi%ines. ;ort)nately, sin%e last three to o)r de%ades %onsiderale progress has een made in the ethno-veterinary
