I then thought there was still something missing from my edited photo so I decided to look at the shadows/highlights setting. I altered the shadows by 5% which made the models eyes and cheekbones stand out more. I then thought there was still something missing from my edited photo so I decided to look at the shadows/highlights setting. I altered the shadows by 5% which made the models eyes and cheekbones stand out more. I then increased the highlight setting to make her face appear brighter and make her skin appear slightly paler.

I think this setting improved the photo after I’d used the hue/saturation because I think that effect had made her skin appear too dark and made her appear as though she had too much make up on her skin. However I decided that this setting didn’t portray the model the way I wanted the effect to and that it made it look obvious that it had been edited, so I decided to un-do it and just use the brightness/contrast setting.

I then tried to improve the background and make it lighter so that the model would stand out against it and give the image more depth. To do this I used the brush tool with overlay and colour sample so that the colour matched. I was happy with this effect because it made my back ground look lighter with complimented the models skin tone.
