UNCW requires all fall freshmen to reside on campus

their first academic year. Research shows that in doing

so, students make a smoother transition to college life,

achieve a higher grade point average, develop stronger

friendships and graduate at higher rates.

Consider joining a learning community: structured

learning experiences where 20-25 first-year students

share common classes and activities related to an

academic or personal interest. Residential and

non-residential options are available.

RESIDENCE LIFEINVOLVEMENT SPORTS & RECLive your best college life and expand your

horizons by taking advantage of any of the 260+

student organizations. The Campus Activities and Involvement Center provides a gateway

to campus entertainment, involvement and

leadership opportunities. As part of the annual

UNCWelcome Week, the Involvement Carnival is

a showcase of student involvement opportunities

on campus and in the community. There’s

something for everyone. Get in where you

fit in and soar.

The Seahawk spirit is alive on and off the court,

and you don’t have to wear a jersey to get in the

game. Outside of our 19 NCAA Division 1 athletic teams, you can join any of the 60 intramural or club sports, including lacrosse, Quidditch, Ultimate

Frisbee and water polo, and take advantage of

adventure programs like camping, kayaking

and surfing.
