    AUTISM SPEAKS SUPPORTED RESEARCH,

RESEARCHERS & PARTNERSHIPS ON DISPLAY AT

    IMFAR 2015

  • A GUIDE TO AUTISM SPEAKS FUNDED SCIENCE AT IMFAR 2015

On behalf of everyone at Autism Speaks, it is a great pleasure to join you here at the International Meeting for Autism Research in Salt Lake City. Since its inaugural year in 2001, IMFAR has grown to become the preeminent research meeting on the annual calendar of anyone working in the autism research ecosystem. It is a unique event for researchers, clinicians, therapists, parents and anyone interested in learning or shar-ing the latest discoveries and innovations that are helping to put science to work for the larger autism community.

Throughout its history, Autism Speaks has been a strong supporter of IMFAR, and like past meetings, IMFAR 2015 offers an opportunity for us to celebrate the diverse achievements of those researchers, clinicians, training fellows and other research partners our foundation has supported. It is also an occasion to acknowledge the gen-erous support we receive from community volunteers, major donors and corporate partners who provide resources that have enabled the scientific work our foundation has supported over the years. In fact, the return on our donors investment can in part be found on display in every poster, podium talk and SIG that Autism Speaks investigators participate in here at IMFAR.

This brochure has been assembled to help summarize and showcase these inves-tigators and their work on display here at IMFAR. Captured here are posters, oral presentations, SIGs and other official events in this years IMFAR program that include or feature investigators, fellows or research partners that Autism Speaks has funded at some point in recent years. Some abstracts highlighted here feature work directly funded by Autism Speaks, while others include authors that are current grantees of our foundation. You will also see abstracts generated from a diverse portfolio of collaborative programs that Autism Speaks has provided support for, and even presentations from our staff. Please use this brochure as a roadmap to explore, and consider it an invitation to visit, engage and celebrate this ground-breaking work.

As you take in this years meeting, we also encourage you to stop by our Autism Speaks booth to meet members of our staff, explore our latest funding opportunities and learn more about the diverse portfolio of work underway at Autism Speaks. Next door you will also find a booth for our venture philanthropy affiliate DELSIA (Delivering Scientific Innovation for Autism, LLC), where you can hear more about how Autism Speaks is working beyond the science to support entrepreneurs and other commercial efforts required to turn scientific innovations into actual products for families.

Thank you and enjoy the conference.
