WHEN DEWEY WAS LIEUTENANT.When Dewey was first lieutenant of

Ohio Methodists have now coinpleted plans for the celebration ofthe centenary of Methodism 111 thatstate. President McKinley will bepresent if war conditions permit,and the bishops who are natives ofOhic Foster, Merrill, Niud-1- , JoyceMcCabe and Cranstone. The firstMethodist society in Ohio was organized in 1798 in Cincinnati. Theoctennial celebration is to takeplace in the hall of the Ohio Wesleyan University at Deleware, June21 to 24. A very long programhas been prepared, with speakersamong ministry and laity, iromevery part of the state. The addresses will show Ohio Methodismin statesmanship, law, among thecolored people, on horseback,among the Germans and otherraces in literature and education,and as missionary workers to otherstates. Many eminent Methodistsfrom beyond the state are to beheard, including Rev. A. B. Leonard and the Rev. Dr. G. H. Payneof New York. Ohio Methodistshave risen to the occasion and aredoing their utmost to make the eelebration, not 011 Ohio, but an internatioual one.

About two hundred d. legateshave thus far booked to go on the' Catalonia" from Boston on June29, to attend the world s Sundayschool convention in London inthe middle of July.
