BAPTISMS Presenting a child for Baptism is a serious obligation and requires a
faith commitment on the part of the parents and godparents. This
commitment is exemplified by being a practicing, active Catholic.
Parents are obligated to attend a preparation session before a child’s
baptism if they have not attended one in the past five years.
Sessions are held at 12:15 p.m. on second Sundays of January,
March, May, July, September and November, in the Parish Activity
Center. Please call the Parish Office to register. Baptisms are at
12:15 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month.
WEDDINGS Please phone the parish office to set-up an appointment with a
priest, in order to begin the sacramental preparation. Only after this
initial meeting and assessment can a date be set for the wedding.
The process requires at least 6 months.
NEW PARISHIONERS ARE WELCOME Please come to the parish office to register. If you have a change of
address, phone number or email, please inform the parish office.

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, JULY 19, 2020
Dear Parishioners, It will be a different year for the IC Festival
in 2020, and also a memorable one with all that is
happening in our world, especially the coronavirus.
We are grateful for all those still generously sharing
their time, talent and treasure. Usually our festival
is a chance to celebrate with our parish family and
be at home at IC; this year virtually and as a drive
through. The festival is one of our larger fundraisers
and critical to the financial stability of the parish
and school, but it is also much more. Normally, it is a
wonderful opportunity to enjoy family, renew
friendships and to enrich parish life. We look
forward to those opportunities again in the future.
We are grateful for all those who have
supported the Prize Parade and the ways many
people have been working behind the scenes to run
our IC Festival “Limited version.” Winners of the
Prize Parade will be listed next week.
Blessings and prayers,
Fr. Ken & Fr. Tim
“Save Time and Donate Online!”
Online Giving is available for IC parishioners
with WeShare, an easy and convenient way to save
time and support the church. Donating is simple,
safe, and completely secure.
With WeShare, you can set up a recurring
weekly or monthly transaction using your checking,
savings, or credit card account. You can decide how
much to give to any collection and make changes any
time, day or night. Plus, you can leave your
checkbook at home on Sundays.
If you would like to enroll in Online Giving,
please visit our parish website at www.celina-ic.org
and click on “Online Giving.” Please note that it
links through the Celina Cluster (IC website), but be
assured that your donations are directed toward IC.
Combining all three parishes in the Celina Cluster
makes service fees more economical for each parish.
If you have any questions or concerns about the
program or would like help setting up your account,
please call our parish office at 419-586-6648.
"Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you." --Luke 6:38

We Need You! The Landscaping Crew will be weeding,
trimming bushes and picking up trash on Tuesday,
July 21 starting at 6:30 p.m. Please bring your
bucket and any tools you may want to use. If you
volunteered to help on this committee please
attend. We need your help!
Scrip Update Now that Masses have resumed, Scrip cards
will be sold outside the main entrances of the
Church (weather permitting) after all weekend
Masses. Rewards, drop-off orders and call-in
orders may be picked up at these times as well.
Scrip cards are also being sold during the
week at the parish office during normal office
hours: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-5:00 Monday through
Friday.
For those who are not comfortable going in
places yet, you may order gift cards to be mailed to
you. Just fill out an order form, enclose your
payment, and put it in the mail slot at the parish
office. The cards you order will then be mailed to
you, so make sure you have the correct mailing
address on your check or a note with your address
on it, and specify that you want them sent.
Other options to receive your Scrip cards:
you may either put your order in the parish office
mail slot, order online, or call the parish office with
your order. ALL drop-off orders MUST BE
PREPAID, but if you call in an order, you’ll have to
pay after Mass when picking up the cards. In order
to observe social distancing and minimize contact,
your cards will be in an envelope with your name
on it and the amount if it is not prepaid.
We now HAVE $10 and $25 cards Westside
CarryOut in inventory, so no need to order them
ahead of time!
Thank you so much for supporting this
program, especially in these trying times!

Gospel Meditation Grace and sin, belief and unbelief, good and
evil all exist together. While we wrestle with these
two dimensions of reality inwardly, they are also
witnessed in the actions and words of others.
Many, all too often, beat themselves up because of
their sin. We are also all too quick to pass
judgment on others whom we perceive to be in
error and walking down a wrong path. God does
not make rash judgments, nor should we. Patience
is the order of the day as is an understanding that
God is ultimately the caller of the shots.
Our faith tells us that while God allows the
wheat and the weeds to coexist, the wheat will
always triumph. As long as we can cultivate even
a little faith and a small measure of desire for God,
He can produce abundant blessings and good
things. Even when the weeds seem to have
triumphed, there still may be a small measure of
faith remaining that can be cultivated and grown.
It doesn’t take much! Unless a person totally
allows the weeds to reign, there is always to be
found at least a small measure of faith, good, light,
and love. With even this small portion, God can
produce abundant growth.
Admittedly, it is easy to give into the weeds,
and they grow very quickly. Any gardener knows
this to be true. Sometimes, the weeds even seem
more attractive and vibrant. Dealing with weeds
can quickly become a losing battle, and they can
look healthier and grow faster than the very
plants we are trying to protect. It’s easy to give
into them and let them win. While God will deal
with all things in due time, we are responsible for
keeping things in check in the short term. It is our
task to keep our eyes fixed on God’s presence and
mercy. We are asked to avoid judgment. And, it is
not our responsibility to deal with the weeds in
someone else’s garden, only our own. One garden
is enough responsibility for anyone.
Weeds have power. We have to realize this.
While they can appear attractive and healthy,
they can quickly choke us off from God’s presence.
Our task is one of maintenance and cultivating a
desire for God. Even the smallest kernel of faith
can grow into something wonderful. In God’s time,
the eternal harvest will come, and we will no
longer have to worry about the weeds. ©LPi
