FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER APRIL 29, 2018

A notice about our First Saturday Devotions: We began celebrating a First Saturday Mass on again, with the Rosary and Confessions in De-cember. Honoring the request of Our Lady of Fatima to pray for those souls who have no one to pray for them and to increase devotion to her Son. Each month we have celebrated this Mass. The first few months we had a good crowd, but of late we have not. Last month (April) there were three people in attendance. We planned on taking a break during the summer months (July—August), but if this devotion is to return in September, an increase in attendance is nec-essary. If this is not a devotion, that at this time, is needed at the parish, then that is okay, but if you would like this celebration to continue, a visible increase in attendance will be necessary for May and June for this devotion to continue next fall.

How about making a Cursillo weekend?: Cursillo or "short course in Christianity" is an uplifting and educational experience. Cursillo was brought from Spain to the United States in 1962. The weekend is facilitated by a team of lay people and clergy who deliver organized talks and discussions. The weekend is full of laughter, prayer, great music, wonderful meals and so much more. Our 2018 dates are: Men’s - June 14-17; Women’s - May 3-6 & October 25-28. All weekends will be held at the Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center in Putnam, CT. For additional information, please contact Sue Leighton at 508-278-3155 or [email protected] OR Joan Laracy at 774-239-2474 or [email protected]

Strawberry Festival Meeting: It’s almost that time of year, mark your calendars for our Annual Strawberry festival, scheduled for June 16-18! A preparation meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 3 at 7:00 PM in the library. All booth chairpersons and volunteers are asked to attend. We have some new ideas and booths for this year’s festival, but would love to hear your suggestions as well to make this festival the best one yet!

(Mark your calendars that there is also a final meeting scheduled for June 5, at 7:15 PM)

150th Anniversary Planning Meeting: Join us for our next planning meeting for our 150th Anniversary celebrations as we finalize activi-ties and events for the celebration on Wednes-day, May 9 at 7:15 PM in the Hall Library.

Parish Council Meeting: Our next Parish Coun-cil Meeting will be May 24 at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall. Please join us as we discuss and plan for the parish’s future. All are welcome to attend.
