Just a little over an hour after news broke Thursday that the Supreme Court had deadlocked over President Obama’s immigration actions, he told reporters in the White House briefing room that voters face a "very real choice" about what kind of country we'd like to be. That choice translated almost instantly on to the campaign trail, reports David Nakamura. Choice

Choice No. 1:

In a statement, issued in both English and Spanish, [Hillary] Clinton referred to Trump’s characterization last year of Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “murderers,” and she pledged to introduce a comprehensive immigration reform bill within her first 100 days in office.

“I believe we are stronger together. When we embrace immigrants, not denigrate them. When we build bridges, not walls,” Clinton said.

Choice No. 2:

• The courts have halted “one of the most unconstitutional actions ever undertaken by a President,” Trump said in a statement. “The executive amnesty from President Obama wiped away the immigration rules written by Congress, giving work permits and entitlement benefits to people illegally in the country.”

• Remember, the polling outfit Latino Decisions is estimating that Trump needs to win at least 42 percent of Latino voters and maybe as many as 47 percent to get elected. That's gonna be tough when the latest Washington Post poll shows Trump with an 87 percent unfavorable rating among Latino voters.
