Immigration- Immigration is the process of coming to live
permanently in a foreign country, to which they are not native too.
- Immigration began between 1820 and 1880.- In 2005 the United Nations reported that
there were nearly 191 million international immigrants worldwide.

Why do people migrate to the U.S.?- People migrate for many reasons, for
freedom, family issues etc…- Some immigrants move for their children to
get the proper education.- To get to the U.S. immigrants cross the
bored and this kind of migration is illegal.

Children crossing the border- Children cross the border because their
mothers might want to give their children to have a better life.
- Since October more than 57,000 children have been crossing the border from Mexico to the United States alone, some have succeeded and some have not.

Some reasons why people may cross the border
- People cross the border for many reasons. People may cross the border because of economic problems, gangs, trafficking of drugs, murders, etc.
- Families struggle in many places around the world. They struggle with no food, shelter, safety, etc. They want a better life for themselves and for their children so they cross borders.

Greencard- A greencard is a permit allowing a foreign
national to live and work permanently in the U.S.
- A greencard is only valid for ten years.- To become a greencard holder it goes by
category for example family, job, and more.

Difference between U.S. Greencard and U.S.Citizenship - A greencard only last 10 years - To have your citizenship you have to
become a permanent resident- A greencard is just a card that gives you
permission to live in the U.S.
