Featured speakerBridget Marron completed her Master Dental Technician (MDT) studies at NYU in October 2011. Ms. Marron graduated from Mt. Ida Junior College with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting and has almost 20 years of experience as a chairside dental auxiliary. She was a Certified Dental Auxiliary (CDA) and was also Certified in Radiology. While working at the
Boston University Dental School, Ms. Marron was trained as an Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA). This training enabled her to restore patients after dental students prepped the tooth for fillings as well as repair dentures, take preliminary and final impressions and make temporaries. While at the dental school she also taught a dental materials course to the dental assisting students. Ms. Marron is currently a Technical Advisor for DENTSPLY Implants.
For the fully edentulous patient, implant-supported overdentures can provide many benefits towards both the esthetics and function of the treatment outcome. This presentation will demonstrate the role of diagnosis and treatment planning for achieving optimal results. A review of abutment selection, impression techniques, lab and clinical procedures for the various types of overdenture options will also be provided.
Upon completion of this program, attendees will be able to:
• Know the various treatment options for an edentulous patient • Understand the importance of diagnosis and planning • Utilize protocols for proper treatment planning • Identify the appropriate overdenture option based on diagnosis and
