II.. OOPPEERRAATTIIOONNSS :: AANNEEWWSSPPEECCIIAALLIIZZAATTIIOONNIn recent years there has been a rise in the number of students expressing their interest

for the inclusion of OPERATIONS as a specialization. To cater to this growing

demand and interest, AIBS feels immense pleasure in announcing that Operations

will be now offered as a specialization option to its students of MBA IB, 3C-MBA

and MBA (Integrated) from the academic year 2011 2012.

In continuation with this, Information Technology has been integrated withOperations and other specializations. It aims to enable students to learn and

implement the practical use of IT in all areas. for eg: Calculation of Financial ratios,

Net Present Value, Future Value with the help of excel; Digital Marketing etc.

IIII.. BBAASSKKEETT OOFF CCOOUURRSSEESSTo make the curriculum more focused and cater to the interest areas of the students,

we are introducing a wider basket of subjects. You are open to choose any two

courses that interest you the most from the two (specialization and universal) basket.

i) SPECIALIZATION BASKET:International Business remains the major specialization. Basket of 3 subjects in

the respective minor specialization (Marketing, Finance, Operations and Human

Resource) will be provided from which the student can choose 1 or 2 subjects

according to the interest area.

ii) UNIVERSAL BASKET:In every specialization, there is one Universal Course that is open to all students.

For instance, the universal course in Marketing Specialization can be opted by a

marketing student as well as by a student who has taken Finance, HR or

operations as a specialization.

(Note: There is no compulsion to choose a subject from this basket.)

Rules:

It is mandatory to choose atleast one subject from Specialization Basket.

It is not mandatory to choose a subject from Universal Basket.

You cannot choose two subjects from Universal Basket but you can choose two subjects

from Specialization Basket or 1 subject from Specialization Basket and 1 from Universal

Basket.

An optional subject (specialization / universal) will be functional only if the strength of

the students opting it will be equal to or more than 30 students.
