Associativity for Imported Data
1. Create a new part
2. Import IGES/ProE/STEP data
3. Switch to Advanced Simulation and create and Idealized part, FEM and SIM.
4. Switch to the Idealized part. Insert/Associated Copy/Wave Link Select all bodies
5. In the FEM and SIM files, create the mesh, properties and boundary conditions. Solve the model.
6. SAVE ALL files.
7. Create a new part.
8. Import the revised geometry in the same format.
Green lettering indicates the steps required to maintain
associativity.

13.Switch to the FEM and update the Mesh. If any modifications were done on the FE entity level,
they will need to be repeated.
14. In the SIM, create a clone of the original solution. Solve the new model.
Both results files are available to compare.

Create FEA Files
Switch to the Advanced Simulation application.
Create a new FEM and SIM.
Make sure that “Create Idealized Part” option is checked.
To make geometry selection easier, change the use bodies to ‘Select Bodies’ and do not select any bodies.
