Sweet Briar College was founded in 1901, the legacy of Indiana Fletcher Williams. Indiana left her

entire estate to establish an institution in memory of her only daughter, Daisy, who died at the age of 16 in 1884.

More than a century later, we continue to empower and educate young women to build and reshape their world however their passions lead them.

Sweet Briar College is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia on 3,250 acres. It includes 21 buildings on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic District.
