Romero’s paintings and sculptures of diverse global cultural and political icons such as Mickey Mouse and Mao Zedong wear Romero’s influences boldly, from pop art and graffiti to Matisse and Picasso. It has resulted in an iconic style, which The New York Times said “exudes warmth, optimism and love”.
Growing up in Brazil, Romero had little traditional artistic instruction and was largely self-taught.
These humble beginnings and his exacting, but exciting, artistic journey via Paris, New York and now Miami, have anchored him to philanthropy, activism and supporting causes and organisations close to his heart.
Britto’s portrait of Elton John supports the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, illustrating both mens’ roles as artists and passionate social actors.
Romero Britto’s unique visual approach has gained him a following of millions, decades of critical acclaim, and the patronage of galleries and art collectors all over the world.

All proceeds from the sales of ‘Music Man’ will go directly to the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, funding frontline programmes in Africa, Asia and Europe, combining the latest medical science with compassion and with expertise in what works on the ground and in the toughest contexts.
‘Music Man’ is limited to 50 print editions, and will be sold on a strictly first-come, first-served basis.
