Autumn Term: Issue 3 Our Christian value this half term is THANKFULNESS 18th September 2020 .. in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Rec. Garrad Isla-Mae For sitting still and listening carefully to my teacher. For being really kind and helpful in the outdoor area. This week we have stayed at school all day, which has been very exciting. We have enjoyed experiencing lunch and making new friends. Y1/2 Giorgio Myles For always being kind, sensible and hard working. For being kind, friendly and super sensible. This week we have been learning how to retell and sequence stories. Y2 Jared Freya For fantastic Maths work For working hard with her writing This week we have been comparing and ordering numbers in Maths. Y3 Xander Georgia For excellent participation in class. For always working hard. This week we have been identifying leaves and using sketching pencils to draw them. Y4 Mia Evie R. For an enthusiastic attitude to learning. For a being a wonderful help and support to everyone in class and for a positive attitude. This week we have been learning how to take notes when conducting research. Y5 Imogen Archie For a confident and resilient start to Year 5. Keep it up! For excellent role model behaviour and a fantastic positive learning attitude. This week we have been learning how to write dialogue between two characters and rounding numbers to 100,000. Y6 Oscar W. Daisy For outstanding work in Maths this week. Keep it up! For a superb work ethic and attitude. Well done! This week we have been writing suspense stories in English using 'The Nowhere Emporium' and in Maths, we are adding and subtracting large numbers using the column method. Congratulations to all our Stars of the Week Year 5: We really enjoyed coming back to school because we missed learning with all our friends! It has been very weird and different this year. We have our new teacher and classroom to get used to. We really enjoy having the playground to ourselves at playtime but we do miss seeing friends from other classes a little bit. Our teachers all have to wear a mask when they arent in their bubble. We eat our lunch in the classroom instead of eating in the hall. It s been a bit confusing with all of these new changes but we are enjoying life in Year 5. Our teacher and teaching assistants say weve adapted really well and they are super proud of us all! By Sophie Wo. and Paige Mc. Its the end of week 3 already! I am so proud of all the children, but ESPECIALLY our new Reception class children who have settled in so quickly! We will be starting to use email to send the newsletter and other documents home wherever possible. Please make sure school has your up to date email address. Yesterday we sent home paper Data Collection forms and an updated Photograph Permission form for you to complete. Please return to your childs class teacher (not the office), before Friday 25th September 2020. Thank you. Lancashire Music Service – Academic Year 2020-2021

We are delighted to be able to offer music tuition through the Lancashire Music Service Parental Direct Payment scheme giving your child the chance to learn an instrument or have singing les-sons. As schools start to reopen in September, we will be making every effort to deliver lessons in school, ensuring clear virus control procedures are in place.

The cost for lessons is as follows:

20min £12.00 per lesson

30min £14.00 per lesson

40 min £18.00 per lesson
