“It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance . . . and I know of no substitute whatever for the force and beauty of its process”
- Henry James
&Dear Collectors & Friends,
There is nothing more exciting to me than receiving a new painting from one of the artists we represent. In developing this catalog and receiving one painting from every one of our artists, there is really no describing my elation. I am excited to present our annual catalog, “In Good Company.”
There are some outstanding images found in the following pages by both nationally and in-ternationally recognized artists. We all know the expression “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and with this artwork it takes on additional meaning. There are some wonderful sto-ries behind a number of these paintings. Many of our artists took this opportunity to challenge themselves to create a painting of great complexity, some used it to further develop an evolving technique, and a few chose to depict a subject that they are most known for. One took almost five months to develop their painting, and one or two brought their work in just before going to press. This year, we are also proud to welcome Gregg Kreutz, Anne Packard, Scott Prior and Eric Thompson to our outstanding roster.
I invite you to immerse yourself in the beauty of these works; to create your own stories, and envision where a painting might be placed in your home or how it might fit in your growing collection. If you like what you see in the catalog I encourage you to visit us in Boston or Nantucket and visit our website frequently.
