If I had to sum up my career in design and life thus far into one word, it would be authenticity.
I was supposed to be a surgeon; don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t too shabby either (thanks to all the video games I played as a kid). But, in college, I found something I loved more: design, and how I could use design to find meaningful solutions that mattered and improved lives.
I devoured all the knowledge I could get my hands on from learning on my own, to working on projects ranging from product design, museum design, environments design, and print design with large (Apple, Nike, Starbucks) and small businesses (Holstee).
Throughout my design career, I’ve learned and honed the delicate art of balancing and utilizing design and project management together to not only create innovative solutions, but to effectively work with multiple cross-functioning teams to deliver those solutions that mutually satisfy all parties involved.
Being a project manager with a deep design background has been tremendously beneficial. The ability to speak both languages effectively allows me to advocate for my teams better, which, I’ve realized, is incredibly gratifying.
As Henri Matisse said, “Creativity takes courage.” And through courage, I was able to find my authenticity in doing what I love.

“BUILD TO THINK” FOR KIDSempathize with
others and walk in their shoes.
Inspired by Mr. Roger’s factory tours, the goal was to create a traveling exhibition that was immersive, educational, and fun in which children could learn to think with their hands. We settled on cutting, molding, deforming, assembling. The tools and equipment brought in were heavily modified for the children’s safety.

DOUGHNUT WEIGHTSFor my senior project, I objectified and juxtaposed my mentality towards living a healthy lifestyle. An advocate for moderation, I chose to show that my quest for peace was a mixture of “healthy” and “unhealthy” lifestyle choices. Pushing against societal norms, I emphasized that obtaining the physique many strove for was possible and didn’t require restricting or shaming. The project symbolized peace found in my life, literally having my cake and eating it, too.

NIKE PATTERN ENGINEERINGA four-week course taught by Paolo Marenghi of Ars Sutoria covered the basic principles of pattern engi-neering. Applying the teachings to various designs and ideas, I utilized the given template patterns and made my own to allow each shoe to tell its own story. Addi-tionally, I pushed boundaries by innovating within the given template to think differently about how shoes support our feet.

His name is Bowerman. It’s German for “builder man.” He did more to shape athletics and Nike around the world than any three people combined. Strategically eccentric. A natural motivator. Complete in his understanding of sports and the athlete. Tireless in his pursuit of innovation. His spirit still blows change into every corner of Nike.
"YOU TALK ABOUT COACHES WHO HAVE HAD AN INFLUENCE—SIMPLY PUT, AND THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION, IF THERE WAS NO BILL BOWERMAN, THERE IS NO ME. I WOULD BE SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. WITHOUT BILL BOWERMAN, THERE WOULD NOT BE A NIKE.

NIKE DIGITAL SPORT BUILDINGSIt’s been said that you can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been — so when the many functions of Nike’s Digital Sport team finally came together under one roof, they needed a space firmly grounded in the brand’s innovative heritage while living up to their vision of future sport. Classic Nike stories are reinterpreted to tell the brand’s stories through a distinctly digital lens, inspiring athletes, visitors and employees to connect, share and innovate.

COFFEE MAKER FOR RITUALRitual Coffee Roasters are leaders in brewing coffee exquisitely and leaders in procuring their coffee beans ethically and sustainably. The proposed design stripped the coffee maker to its bare minimum, and leveraged gravity, water vapor, and atmospheric pressure to brew and separate the grounds. The only source of power needed was a small heating plate.

BREAD + BUTTERA personal project in designing mobile apps with an eye towards using a design thinking process, Bread + Butter, at first, was simply just another bill splitting app to ease tension and awkwardness between first-time dinners between people. Taken to a whole new level, I discovered that the goal of these dinners was to foster new and budding relationships that allowed people to feel at ease - with conversation starting questions and facts about the people at the dinner! The bill pay was the added bonus that continued to keep stress down and notions of mistrust from ever brewing.
