Chairs and plastic tarps are not permitted on the lawn, but you may use a Bryant Park chair on the gravel.

All event attendees are invited to bring a picnic. Food and beverages are also available for purchase from vendors in the park.

The bathroom is located at the northeast corner of the park.

In line with current CDC and state guidelines, attendees may remove masks at their own discretion once within the fully vaccinated areas.

Bring your own blanket or enjoy a chair on the lawn gravel. No chairs or plastic ground coverings (including sheets, tarps, bags, or pads) are permitted on the lawn.

Within the fully vaccinated area, attendees will have ample space to distance from others at their own discretion.

Masks are required unless seated in socially distant chairs.

Attendees must keep six-foot distance from other parties at all times.

Bryant Park chairs will be placed in exact positions by event staff. Please do not move chairs. Individuals in the distanced area may not enter the fully vaccinated/tested areas.

After a year and a half of watching movies at home, our intermission is over, and we are excited to have you join us again for movies under the stars in the heart of Manhattan.

From comedies like “Clueless” to family-friendly titles like “The Muppets Take Manhattan” to our Broadway series, our season has something for everyone. Whether you were waiting to claim a spot on the lawn at 5pm or you arrived just in time for the feature film, welcome!

Fans of Bryant Park Movie Nights will notice that this year’s schedule looks a bit different than in years past, as we are showing films on Monday and Tuesday evenings. There’s no better way to wrap the summer season than with back-to- back movie nights.

“As if!”

“It’s like robbing the bank, except you get the keys. You in?”

Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is a rich and shallow popular girl at Beverly Hills high school. A self-proclaimed matchmaker, Cher sends two teachers on a date and quickly develops an interest in giving the klutzy new student Tai a makeover. Problems arise for Cher when Tai becomes the most popular girl in school and confesses her love for Cher’s ex-step brother Josh (Paul Rudd).

Destiny (Constance Wu) starts working as a stripper to make ends meet. But her fate changes forever when she meets the club’s top money earner Ramona (Jennifer Lopez) and learns how to please the wealthy Wall Street clientele. When the 2008 economic collapse cuts into the girls’ profits, they make a daring plan to be on top again.

A family-friendly film that all ages will love! Kermit the Frog and the Muppets take their stage act to the Big Apple! However, when the Muppets arrive to New York City, they struggle to find financial support for their Broadway Show.

Robber Dalton Russell (Clive Owen) devises a bank heist, challenging detective and hostage negotiator Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) to stop him before it is too late. Just as the situation could not get more tense, power broker Madeline White (Jodie Foster) enters with a hidden agenda.

Jeweler Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler) has an excessive amount of debt to pay off due to his gambling addiction. When Howard acquires a rare gem that could help him, basketball player Kevin Garnett becomes obsessed with it, insisting the precious gem is his good luck charm. When Garnett refuses to give it back, Howard must juggle his business and family commitments to reclaim the gem that will solve all his problems.

Childhood friends Monica and Quincy aspire to be professional basketball players. While Quincy is a natural talent and a born leader, Monica is ferociously competitive but sometimes overly emotional on the court. Over the course of their careers, the two begin to fall for each other until their separate paths to basketball stardom threaten to tear them apart.

Italian-American widow Loretta (Cher) accepts a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Johnny but then develops feelings for Johnny’s younger brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage). Ronny, who lost his hand in an accident and claims it is Johnny’s fault, decides to aggressively pursue Loretta, leaving her in a difficult situation.

In Paris of 1899, a young Englishman named Christian (Ewan McGregor) falls in love with beautiful singer Satine (Nicole Kidman) at the Moulin Rouge theater. The relationship between the two musicians is doomed, as the Moulin Rouge’s manager has promised Satine to a wealthy Duke to save the theater. As the wedding day draws near, the young singer conceals a big secret from both Christian and the Duke. MOULIN ROUGE! can-cans back to Broadway this fall!

Concealed in a hideout beneath a 19th century Paris opera house, the Phantom schemes to win budding vocalist Christine Daae’s heart. The Phantom, who wears a mask to hide his scarred face, manipulates management into giving Christine the lead role in order to woo her. Yet, the Phantom’s advances fail as arts benefactor Raoul catches Christine’s eye. Terrified at the possibility of losing her, the Phantom devises a plan to have Christine all to himself while Raoul tries to stop him. The longest running Broadway musical re-opens this fall!

Missing his children after a messy divorce, Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) creates an elaborate plan to disguise himself as an older British woman and convince his ex-wife Miranda (Sally Field) to hire him as their children’s nanny. “Mrs. Doubtfire” quickly wins over the children. Daniel’s cover may be blown when he and Mrs. Doubtfire must be at the same restaurant at the same time. Don’t miss Mrs. Doubtfire’s Broadway debut this fall!

THE LAWN

Movie Nights is a free, non-ticketed, first-come, first-served event open to the public.

Bryant Park Movie Nights takes place on Monday and Tuesday evenings from August 23 – September 28. The Park will show 10 movies this summer in the park. Note: there are no Movie Nights the week of September 20, 2021.

The lawn opens at 5pm for blankets and picnicking. Each movie begins at sunset, typically around 7:30pm/8pm. We recommend arriving early to picnic and enjoy the surroundings with friends while waiting for the movie to begin.

The Bryant Park lawn and gravel will be reserved for vaccinated/tested guests. Upon arrival, vaccinated guests should be prepared to show proof of vaccination (CLEAR/Excelsior pass, photo of vaccination card etc) and a government issued ID. The Upper Terrace will be a distanced area where proof of vaccination/a negative test is not required.

WEATHER POLICY

Bring a blanket for the most comfortable Movie Nights experience. Please note that plastic ground coverings, including tarps and plastic-lined blankets, are not permitted on the lawn.

In addition to plastic tarps, outside chairs are not permitted on the lawn, but guests may use a Bryant Park chair on the gravel. Dogs are permitted on the lawn gravel.

Security is on-site. For the safety of all Movie Nights attendees, all bags, briefcases, backpacks, etc. will be inspected before entering the lawn area (the lawn and surrounding gravel).

You can find our friendly staff in green shirts. If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to speak with us.

We rarely cancel events, but if weather is severe and conditions are not safe, the event will be cancelled. If weather is wet but not unsafe, the lawn may be closed and audience may sit on the gravel. Please check our web + social for updates.
