The new jeans collection from JACK & JONES lowers the use of water and energy and reduces the impact on the environ-ment. With Low Impact Denim, JACK & JONES makes a longterm commitment to sustainable production. Innovative laser and ozone technology is used in the finishing process to treat the denim, replacing the conventional production process. In order for a pair of jeans be labelled Low Impact Denim, the use of water has to be reduced by at least 40%, compared to if the pair of jeans were produced the conventional way.

In addition, through our BESTSELLER membership of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), some of the LID fab-rics include the use of ‘Better Cotton’. ‘Better Cotton’ is cotton grown in a more sustainable way with reduced use of fertilizers, pesticides, more responsible use of water and with focus on improved working conditions for the farmers. For more info visit http://www.bettercot-ton.org/.

JACK & JONES has also teamed up with SGS – one of the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification companies. SGS visits the JACK & JONES laundries and inspects the production in order to calculate the actual savings achieved.

Lower your impact today! Are your jeans dirty? Wash them in cold water – and not too often! Are your jeans smelly? Throw them in the freezer! Do not tumble dry your jeans! Instead, hang them out to dry! The customers get a pair of jeans with the same great look they’re used to – and get to make a difference for the environment.

For the autumn 2012 collection, customers can choose from 9 Low Impact Denim jeans, prices starting at 59.95 euro.

However, exercising has its rewards. We not only gain health benefits, but we can also reduce our stress levels and improve our quality of life. So what are some of the ways to keep fit this sum-mer without breaking the bank?

Think of summer as a time of change instead of a time to let it all go. Summer can actually be a great time to increase exercise and make some healthy changes to one’s life-style. There is so much more that you can do outdoors now than during the colder months. If you’re on holidays abroad, try the fitness center or hit the pool and swim some laps. Maybe take to the beach for a brisk walk or light jog. Be a little adventurous and try some hiking or kayaking. As for food - fresh fish, fruits and vegetables should be on the menu.

Enjoy all outdoor activities in your local area with family and friends. Find nearby parks and explore walking trails. Try activi-ties like swimming or water aerobics one day a week. Swimming is a total body workout as you use your arms, abdominal muscles and legs. Water aerobics classes are offered at gyms and leisure centers. Invite your part-ner to go for a walk with you in the evening after the sun goes down or plan a bicycle trip for your child and their friends.

For those of us who are not big fans of team sports, the summer time might be the perfect time to engage in other physically rewarding activi-ties. There are many different fun

activities that you can engage in dur-ing the summer time. Tennis, Gym-nastics, Dance Classes, and Football are just some of the popular activities that the both kids and adults can participate in. The variety of Summer camps available throughout South Dublin is amazing with something to please all kids and teens whether their interest is sporting, creative, academic or simply just play.

Now if you want to get really creative, you can set up a fun obstacle course in your back yard using stuff that you already have at home. For in-stance, you can place a broom in be-tween two chairs so that a person has to crawl underneath. You can place hula hoops on the ground and kids will have to hop through the hoops. Another part of the obstacle course can be throwing a ball into a big bas-ket. You can also go with something more traditional such as carrying an object on a spoon (carry a water bal-loon). The possibilities are endless as long as you have the time to invest in the setting up of the course.

However, the best part about all of these activities is that you can get the whole family involved, even friends if you wish. These little games end up being so much fun that you hardly even realize that you are exercising.

New Kitchen Flooring, freshened-up presses, refinished appliances, and a contemporary backsplash are all money – making ways to improve your home value while enjoying your dream kitchen.

Tips: To ensure longevity of your kitchen – go for quality cabinets – this will prove more cost effective.– Verify that all kitchen items arrive

The right choice of windows and doors can not only improve the appearance, but also improve the insulation and security aspect.

The basic function of windows and doors is to admit daylight and ven-tilation in acceptable and consistent quantities, while maintaining the ambient temperature inside the house – this is your overall comfort level.

But this needs to be balanced against your requirements for what you want to see through them and how much privacy you require. You should also consider how the win-dows and doors need to blend with the overall style of your home, both in design and colour.

From a safety and security aspect you need to have the appropriate style of window or door for each loca-tion. And finally if noise is an issue you need to understand the impact of using certain styles of windows and doors, and glazing options.

Do you havE a MulTi-poiNT lockiNg DoorS?The efficiency of the locking is only as good as the discipline of the homeowner when leaving the home. When the locks are fully engaged by pulling the handle upwards they provide a reasonable degree of security. HOWEVER, believ-ing your home is secure by having these multipoint locks on your is misplaced. The career thief will gain entry to your home in less than a minute even with this locking fully engaged.

Here’s wHaT THey Can Do:

1. If the locks are not fully engaged the only point of security on your door is one simple latch – the thief knows by checking the resistance of the handle.

Even if your door has multipoint locking fully engaged, they can:

2. “Bump” the door lock – the thief will use a standard filed door key which he will forcefully hit into the standard cylinder lock breaking all the “pins”

and completely disengaging ALL the locking.

3. Snap the lock by means of a vice-grip or claw hammer.

4. Drill the lock – disabling the pins in the lock and disengaging all locking.

your aCTion sTeps:

1. Replace the door cylinder with an Anti-snap, Anti-Bump and Anti-Drill lock.

2. Ensure the deadbolts are locked at all times when the house is unoccu-pied even if you are just “popping out for a minute”.

PATieNCe, PASSiNG AND POSSeSSiON: liverpool will begin their assault on the premier league this season with rodgers!

breNDAN rOGerS

Brendan Rodgers has finally got down to business as Liverpool manager and already it is clear to see the style he wants to implement through pre-season games. The first noticeable difference between this Liverpool and the one under Kenny Dalglish was the tempo at which they played and the formation that was used: 4-3-3 has replaced 4-4-2. Both men believe in keeping the ball on the deck but Rodgers does not want to see things being done in a hurry.

Liverpool are delighted with the ap-pointment, and are backing the former Swansea manager to make a significant impact. Werner said: “I don’t think anyone could have been happy with our performance on the pitch last year, no disrespect to Kenny. I think he is an iconic figure for Liverpool and he will always be appreciated for the stability that he brought to the club”.

Brendan brings a modern, attack-ing philosophy to the game - I think the Liverpool fans will be very happy with the new style he will bring to the club - and hopefully we will see a big improvement.

Will there be a top 4 finish for Liver-pool this season?
