|IN THE WAY|REVEREND JODY HILL For our September article, I asked Lynn to share the article she wrote & submitted at the request of Martha Knichel (St. Andrew Presbytery, Synod of the Living Waters) to be published in September’s edition of The Pipeline. Lynn commented, “You know, once I started writing this article & listing these ministries that we are supporting….it really made me feel good. It opened my eyes to the difference that the RPC makes in our community—great & small, far & wide. I was smiling when I finished!” Hope there’s a smile on YOUR face by the time you reach the end, as well!

"Ripley Presbyterian Church has a heart for Christ and community--we are a "mission-minded" congregation, and support several ministries in our area. We provide financial support to the Tippah County Good Samaritan Center through special offerings; we support the campus ministry UKirk of Ole Miss by providing a supper meal every semester to their college students; we support Ripley Rotary's Coats for Kids by providing a rent-free venue and volunteers to help fit the kids from Tippah & Benton Counties with coats for the upcoming winter. Other ministries that have our support are the Gideon's, Together For Tippah, Samaritan's Purse (Operation Christmas Child--we have an AWESOME "Packing Party" in November prior to shipping our OCC boxes!), and Living Waters For the World. The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance of Mississippi ministry holds a very special place in our heart--this ministry played a big part in the clean-up/rebuilding/restoration of the destruction & devestation left by the F-4 tornado that swept through our area in December 2015. This effort continues today--work is still being done, and families are still being helped. RPC had volunteers that donated items & funds, assisted the Emergency Management with the organization of donated items, and helped distribute them to the affected individuals & families. RPC also provided the use of our family life center, The M.E. Gregg Center, to the emergency response teams who needed a place to stay. What a humbling experience it was to visit with these workers, provide a meal, snacks & drinks, and to watch them unselfishly give of their time & talents to help our community. The RPC considers itself very blessed to have the opportunity to support all of these ministries & more. To help & love one another and to share Christ's love, as He loves us, is a mighty and wonderful gift of grace. We must never forget that. We are very, very thankful." Peace & Grace, Lynn Hill
