In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful
The Beginning
In an interactive forum, students have posed loads of queries with regard
to issues ranging from their personal to academic levels. The nature of
queries pertains to the need of both college and school going students.
The issues have been dealt here keeping in view the wider scope of
students’ reference. The matters related to moral and psychological
aspects have also been included to maximize its utility. Therefore it can
serve as a handy reference for students’ of all the grades. May the
Almighty Allah make this effort beneficial and rewarding.

Guidelines for the Students
Exams are approaching, at this crucial juncture, students encounter with
personal and subject related problems. Amidst a busy exam schedule,
students have interacted with some personal and subjected related
issues. What needed is a prompt solution which not only set them free of
worries but also facilitates their smooth preparation. Here enlisted are a
few questions about study method, preparation of time table, overcoming
distractions, scoring high marks in English and a few related to core
subjects like Physics, Chemistry etc. Let’s just get right to it.
(1) How to study before exams and how to make an effective time
table? Students have a psychological advantage that nearing the examination
period their curiosity, discipline, hard work, loyalty towards study
incredibly increases. This really proves to be instrumental for a good
student to gain maximum benefits.
Well, there can’t be a fixed study method. It may vary according to a
student’s intellect, preparation and academic performance in the previous
examinations / tests. The only common thing for all the students could be
“work hard, never compromise with your studies”. However, you can
cultivate a good study habit by focusing on the following:
Select a good place to study
Develop concentration
Be a master of note taking techniques
Be an expert of skimming technique – Skimming is about focusing
on the most important portion of the subject and leaving aside the
rest. This is similar to the way you scroll down to find out any
particular number from your mobile phone book, this scanning
technique when applied to reading a book is skimming.
Time management
Memory
Revision
Preparing an effective time schedule help stay focused. For its preparation
we are considering that there are no formal classes, it’s almost a complete
vacation for exam preparation. So the available time is 24 x 7, however we
will extract an affordable part from it to make it convenient.
![Page 4: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)

A time table is a handy tool that will give you a perspective on things to be
accomplished. It’s all about managing your time, if you succeed, excelling
in the exams is going to be your cup of tea.
First of all set a target for yourself. What do you want to achieve and
what’s your future plan, based on that you will be charged up to stick to a
decent time table.
In view of your strengths, make a priority list of the subjects and chapters
of the subjects. That means take those subjects first that consume less of
your time and then opt those that demands more time. Similarly select the
chapters of the subjects based on the possible time that may consume.
For a student, productive working hours would be comprised of sessions
of 60 mins each with 15 mins break. Just calculate the available time in a
day’s period. If you start your day by 4 am and wind up your studies at
around 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5
hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate 3 hours’ time for
food and prayers then you are left with a quantum of 11 hours of study per
day. This duration could be flexible; students can alter according to their
own priorities and overall condition.
Now, divide the available time among the total subjects. You can spend
quality time on each subject every day. Or you can have three to four
subjects a day and deal with the rest on the alternate days. This way the
time delegated is more than enough to carry out effective studies. Make
sure of taking out some time for the revision of subjects studied.
Once you make a time schedule don’t alter the timings, let it be fix.
However, later you can alter a bit if feel little hard to cope.
In view of this principle description you can commence your studies from
morning 4 and relaxed in the night at 11 pm. It would be desirable if you
get up early in the morning and sleep max by 11 pm. Avoid night outs.
To excel in the exams you need to concentrate on other factors also. Time
table is all about time management. You need to focus on your health and
memory.
![Page 5: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)

(2) A 16 year old boy asked: How to cope up with parents
blackmailing attitude, they say if I don’t get good marks they will fix
my marriage. First of all I would like to remind you that with parents we behave with
utmost reverence, to say “cope up” doesn’t suit to their status. So, instead
of looking at their motives as some sorts of blackmailing, why don’t you
perceive it as a beneficial move? We don’t know what exactly your
parents told, but what we know is, no parent can afford to marry their son
at a tender age of 16 years.
Concentrate on your studies. Focus on some definite objectives and fixed
goals. Set a mission to accomplish in your life time. Don’t ever allow the
circumstances to dictate your life, be a master of your own destiny. Try to
understand the ambitions and dreams of your parents and patron. Be close
to their hearts. Listen to their advices.
It is sometimes “falling short of their expectations” become a cause of
such uncomfortable situation. Work hard success, by all means, is yours.
(3) What topics are likely to appear in PUC Physics, PUC II exams? Some important topics have a higher possibility of appearing in the exams,
you can focus on them and they are:
Optics
Electronic Devices
Communion Systems
Atoms & Nuclei
Electrostatic
Dual Nature of Matter
You can also prepare for the following chapters and topics:
Modern Physics – semiconductor, atom n nuclei, dual nature of
radiation, communication system
Optics – ray optics, wave optics, problems of interference,
diffraction and Youngâ € double slit.
Current & Electricity.
Practice the ray and other important diagrams.
Solve objective type questions, practice for solving one mark
questions.
![Page 6: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
6
However, I would recommend you to go through complete syllabus and
try to cover the maximum. Refer previous years question papers so as to
have an idea about the question patterns and order of their appearance.
(4) How to score 95 marks in English in 12th board exams? You need to really work hard for scoring more than ninety marks in
theoretical subjects, like English. Try to understand the basics:
Score full marks in comprehension section with the help of passage
given.
Well acquaint with the knowledge of formatting, it is essential for
scoring high marks in writing and literature sections.
Always keep in mind the word limits specified for the answers,
don’t try to go beyond that.
(5) Appearing in 12th Board Exam, Maths completed, now how to
revise Physics and Chemistry? Physics and Chemistry are most crucial in the sense the highest marks you
score in these subjects set your future course of action. By scoring highest
marks we mean your in depth knowledge and understanding of these
subjects. Try to focus on the following:
Start both the subjects simultaneously.
Ensure equal time distribution for both.
Study those chapters first that are easy for you.
Then move on to the little tough ones.
Set deadlines for the chapters to be covered.
Set a target for each subject.
For physics / chemistry revision – prepare quick reference list of
important definitions, formulae, equations & derivations / revise
graphs & diagrams / try to understand applications of various
concepts / practice numerical as well as theoretical questions /
attempt sample papers or previous year papers.
Improve speed of answering.
Be confident.
Take care of health.
Avoid night outs.
Five to six hours sleep is sufficient.
![Page 7: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)

(6) How to revise the syllabus before 10 days of examinations? Days before the final exams are very crucial. You need to be physically
and mentally strong enough to cope with the overall situation.
Well, with your modes of preparations we expect that by now you must
have completed the studies and that it is a time of a thorough revision. If
not, by chance, some of the portions still remaining, complete within a few
days so that you can have at least four to five days for thorough revision of
all the subjects, in particular Physics, Chemistry and Math. Here we go
with the helpful tips:
Be strong enough to face the exams, increase your confidence
level.
Prepare a quick reference list and paste it in your study room.
Prepare charts and slides of important portions.
Re-read your notes and highlight important part.
Condensed your notes to a single page.
Instead of memorizing, just write down the answers / sums /
equations / derivations on the paper. It strengthens your memory
power and increases writing speed as well.
Review each topic.
Take small breaks after the completion of each topic.
Refrain from panicking, everything is going to be in your control.
(7) Is checking of the 12th English paper, harder or easier? Don’t bother about these things. Concentrate on your preparation. If you
do well in the exams, results are going to be equally good, that’s for sure.
However, for excelling in the English paper you need to focus on the
following sections:
1. Comprehensions / unseen passages – Read carefully and
thoroughly.
2. Writing section – Express your thoughts clearly. Make use of rich
vocabulary, this section analyzes your writing skills.
3. Literature – Write comprehensive and to the point answers. Read
questions carefully before answering. Maintain decency while
writing, leave necessary space and draw margins.
![Page 8: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. (8) What are most general questions usually asked during the viva of
physics class 12th final practical? In the practical examination along with experiments you have to face viva
voce (oral examination) from the internal / external examiner. It is just to
know your depth of knowledge and understanding of the subject. Based on
your performance you will be credited with the deserving score. The
possible questions are as under. Please remember these questions going to
be in continuation to your response to the examiner’s queries:
Why the Sonometer box contain holes?
What are the differences between free vibrations and forced
vibrations?
Why are the resistance used in a resistance box is like
1,2,2,5,10,20,20,50,100,200,200,500,1000,2000,5000 etc?
Why wire is double folded in resistance box?

Why is the emf of auxiliary battery greater than the emf to be
measured?
In view of the similar question-pattern you can have an idea of rest of the
chapters. The key to your better performance is a fair understanding of the
subject. Follow these guidelines for a good preparation:
The frequently asked questions during viva are mostly related to
methodology and principle.
Read thoroughly the complete theory behind the experiment.
Revise your practical notes.
Graphs are important part of Physics practical exams, try to a have
there good understanding.
Experiments have been developed to prove the principles, try to
remember the main principle behind performing any particular
experiment.
Visualize the diagram of the experiment and draw it roughly.
Be confident at the time of experiment and write down important
steps before starting the practical examination.
In case of any doubt, consult your teacher.
(9) How to prepare for physics AIPMT- 2016, I am good in 12th
Physics but weak in 11th’s? When you are good in 12th physics then how can be weak in 11? So first
of all come out of that mental barrier, you are strong enough to excel.
Believe in yourself. Stay focused. Concentrate on the following:
The sections generally covered in AIPMT- Physics are:
Kinematics
Physical World and Measurement
Work, Energy & Power
Laws of Motions

Electrostatic and Current Electricity
Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism and finally
Electromagnetism
….so, plan an organized study. The following tips may be helpful:
![Page 10: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
10
Focus on self-studies.
If needed you can opt for a study partner.
Maintain a strict time table.
Study thoroughly your 11th physics notes.
Specify which part is appearing little time consuming, focus on it,
take advice from your teachers / students.
Try to solve theoretical questions on Modern Physics, as they are
without calculations.
Most of the questions in Thermodynamics & Heat are based on P-
Y Graphs, so prepare accordingly.
In case of lengthy calculations try to solve the problems through
approximation.
If find time, please go through the following online test once, you
may continue, if it is useful: https://www.simplylearnt.com/AIPMT-

(10) Do parents play a key role in ruining the education of their
children, by emphasizing on earning marks during education and
money after education rather than focusing on learning? I don’t think so. Parents are the adorable and selfless beings who always
think good about their children. Actually for emphasizing the importance
of education, parents do advise children in their own style and dialect. The
only benchmark to know the impact of their advice and your depth of
learning is the exam results. Higher the marks, higher the degree of their
satisfaction, therefore they emphasize on this aspect. An admonition to
score good marks is just for you to sharpen your focus on learning.
Then after education what? They want you to stand up on your own and
the only criterion to judge this is to know the way you earn. If you start
earning, parents think that you have grown up in real sense and ready to
shoulder the responsibilities. So, children have to look at the parent’s
advice with a positive frame of mind. An obedient son / daughter are one
who truly understands the spirit behind the words of his / her parent.
(11) What are the prerequisites of success for a student? The prerequisites of success are quite simple but they demand your gentle
care and initiatives which are very tough to adhere to. They are:
1. Be an open minded, realistic and ready to accept the shortcomings
and incorporate new things.
![Page 11: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
11
2. Never be jealous of anyone no matter what. Try to be pure at heart
and involve yourself in healthy competitions.
3. Don’t treat any success as the final one; every single achievement
should be a moral boost for you to reach to the highest peak of
success. 4. Don’t treat your colleagues as rival, help them achieve their goals.
Your helping nature in turn enlightens you with the dynamics of
success. 5. Be a man of God, don’t be egoistic. Abstain from all sorts of
negative traits.
6. Manage your time; all your activities should be well defined.
Maintain a healthy habit of keeping time for every engagement. Be on
time to classes. Specify study timings. Be a regular visitor of the
library. Assign time for light entertaining games, and of course time
to spend with friends. 7. Set priorities, make your own list of priorities, at what period of the
year what is supposed to be done and achieved. 8. Create goals, both long and short term. Set your own target of
achieving excellent results in the tests / semester / final exams. Decide
a topic / definite portion of a particular subject for an in depth
understanding within a specified time. Make a list of the skills to be
developed. 9. Maintain discipline, don’t skip classes. Study with double
seriousness. Be polite and humble in your approach towards studies
and answering the queries. 10. Cultivate obsession, yes there should be a kind of madness in you to
go an extra mile and reach to the top. Try to be obsessed about
acquiring knowledge, excelling in understanding, helping out the
needy and thinking out of the box.
(12) I didn’t tie the answer sheet properly, what to do? I think this sort of feelings do occur, in particular when a paper is written
in a hurried manner and the time gets to its full even before reviewing the
answer sheet.
The properly tied sheets always remain intact don’t worry. Better if you
write the number of sheets used in the examination in the space provided
on the front cover of the answer book. If the additional papers loosen by
chance, they will be tied again by the examiner before they get submitted
to the concerned authority.
![Page 12: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
12
However it is desirable that you should get ready for exams with a
thorough preparation and keep ready the “exams kit” containing hall
ticket, pen, pencil, eraser, calculator etc. A mental preparation about
things to be done before, during and after the examinations is also
solicited. A good student is one who concentrates on all the aspects of
exams.
(13) I have my exams coming up. Personal issues are bothering me a
lot. I don't want to mess up my studies this time. I'm not able to
concentrate. I'm stressed emotionally and mentally. What should I
do? Most of the time, the solution to a problem lies in its understanding. The
case is same with you, though the problem is serious as it deals with your
better future, but its solution is not that difficult.
First, make up your mind that you can conquer the self, minimize the tense
situation and realize the goals; it truly depends on how constructively you
ensure your approach.
Sort out those emotions that are disturbing you, put aside all the activities
that invite or add to those emotions.
Develop concentration by focusing on a time table, follow strictly, decide
your targets for the subjects and set achievable goals for a day.
Have a clear assessment of the subjects, those that are easy and already
read need to be separated from the rest. Don’t assess your study in view of
all the subjects; this is the main reason of messing up. If you look
realistically, it will appear that in some subjects you are good and in some
you need to work hard.
Make a list of the subjects / topics in easy, hard and normal categories.
Rotate your study time in such a way that your interest is retained at the
highest level always. If you are going good with a hard topic, fine, if not
by chance then switch over to the easy or normal one.
Remember, following a decent time table and putting in hard work will
help you overcome all sorts of hurdles.
(14) What happens to the frequency and the wavelength when the
light passes through a medium?
![Page 13: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
13
When light passes through a medium the frequency remains constant,
otherwise, if there are more wave crests hitting the interface per unit time
than the wave crests leaving it. It would result in a kind of accumulation
that worsens in due course of time. As far the wavelength, it can change,
by involving different variants like frequency, speed of light in the
vacuum and index of refraction.
(15) Class 10th board timetables are out and within 9 days my pre
board will begin. I am having so much tension what should I do? Just relax. Focus on systematic studies and hard work. Remember one
thing, at this crucial period everything is possible if you have self-
confidence and try to be mentally tough.
Make a time table and focus on sticking to it with discipline.
Start with those subjects which are quite easy for you or which
have already completed a bit.
According to phases of the day, like morning, afternoon,
forenoon etc, set your subjects. For an early phase of the day,
select those subjects or topics which demand your hard
attention.
Try to share your difficulties, consult your teacher or friend.
Focus on your health.
(16) How do I study sociology of class XI? Subject becomes quite easy if you read properly with a strict time table.
For studying Sociology for the class XI you need to schedule your subjects
in a way, equal focus is ensured. You can broadly categorized the subjects
into
1. Theoretical Part
2. Theories and Contributions of the Sociologists
3. Mathematical Part
4. Social Issues
You can add still more categories if something important according to you
are missing. Don’t try to memorize, rather try to understand the concepts
and write in your own words on a paper. Then compare your write up with
the original one. This way you can prepare well for Sociology.
(17) How can I improve my spoken English? Speaking skills can be developed with knowledge and practice. For every
attempt you have to ensure acquiring of knowledge. If speeches are made
without preparation and knowledge, the oratory skill may develop but it
![Page 14: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
14
will never attract the attention of audience. So you need to focus on
practice rather knowledge based practice.
As far the technical aspects of the speech, try to get a clear idea of the
topic, understand well, know who your audience are, rehearse it and then
deliver. After the speech evaluate your performance with the reaction of
audiences and then try to listen to your own speech, point out the positive
and negative aspects, note down the ways of rectification and then again
prepare yourself for the next installment. This is how you can develop
your oratory skills.
(18) How can I study more effectively? I manage to make average
grades from what I retain in class and with the little studying I
manage to do. I do find flash cards work for definitions, but I am a
nursing student and they can only go so far. Any tips? Your effective study habits will take you very high. Ensure an all-time
focused study by concentrating on the following:
make a time table for the study it will make up your mind
take interesting subjects first
set a target for yourself, about subjects and performance in
tests/exams
take guidance from parents / teachers
make a study partner
study for shorter duration of time say a session of 45 mins each
relax for some time in between the sessions
develop your concentration
avoid distractions
maintain good health
be regular to your classes
try to overcome the difficulties you face during studies
pay special attention for the tough subjects / chapters
perform well in tests and exams
set an objective for your life
(19) How can I improve my writing in one month? If you resolve to make your dream true, you can do it by all means. Just
stay focused on the commitment that you will strive hard to improve your
writing. Following tips can be helpful:
Consider writing as your own interest.
Outline your content before writing.
![Page 15: In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful The Beginning filearound 11 pm, it comes around 19 hours a day. If you take out almost 5 hours of break (19 x 15 = 4.75 hrs.) and approximate](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022041414/5e1a8f2dec522c542e062b6f/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)

If you practice time and again, in view of these tips, you can find a
considerable improvement in the writing skills. However don't specify a
short period of time. Let it be one month, if by chance it doesn't happen,
don't lose hope, keep trying.
(20) Is it okay if I play Computer Game in between my breaks (one
per 3-4 hrs) given CBSE XII Boards ongoing and I am studying about
12-13 hours a day? Yes you can have a break of a few minutes but you should be always
serious enough to focus on your studies.
How well you have prepared before the examination doesn't matter, what
matters the most is how well you have performed during the examination.
So watch your steps. Avoid overconfidence. Be confident. Ensure tireless
efforts you will succeed.
(21) How do I prepare for CBSE class 12 within 2 months and score
95 above? If you have decided to score 95 marks within a stipulated time implies that
you should stick to it. This itself will be an advantage to stay focused on
studying.
Stay focused and committed.

Spend more time first on the subjects / chapters that consume
less time.
Avoid all sorts of distractions.
Rotate your study timings; don't stick to a routine time table as it
sometimes causes disinterest.
Make it a point to study for maximum hours of a day, take a
break of 15 mins after each hour.
If required choose a good study partner.
Eat nutritious food.
Sleep well.
(22) What is the best schedule for study before 1 month of board
exam? Students have a psychological advantage that near the examination period
their curiosity, discipline, hard work and loyalty towards study
tremendously increases, so good students always take advantage of these
psychological aspects.
Now, there is no fixed schedule of study, the only common thing for all
the students could be "work hard, don't compromise with your studies".
The rest depends on the strength and weaknesses of a student.
Try to organize your schedule in a way, proper time allotment is ensured
in accordance with demands of the subject.
As far study hours in a day, it may vary between 19 to 16 hours a day.
Excluding 5 hours sleep in the night, and appropriate breaks for food,
worship and a bit of relaxation.
You need to focus on your health too. Try to be mentally and emotionally
strong. Avoid bad habits, if any.
(23) How do I learn physics and chemistry whole chapters in 3 days? Since three days of time is not that sufficient, you need to concentrate with
a positive frame of mind. It is because owing to shortage of time you tend
to force yourself and learn things at a faster rate that for some reasons
won't be possible, this creates a kind of disinterest. That's why during such
crucial period you have to remain optimistic and shouldn't compromise
with any ill feelings. Stick to a disciplined time table. God willing you will
succeed.

(24) How do I do a good time table for 12th standard? Good you have thought of preparing a time table. It is all about managing
your time. If you succeed excelling in the exams will be within your grasp.
First of all set a target for yourself. What do you want to achieve and
what's your future plan, based on that you will be charged up to stick to
the time table.
In view of your strengths and weaknesses, make a priority list of your
subjects and chapters of the subjects. That means take those subjects first
that need less of your time and then opt those that demands more time.
Similarly select the chapters of the subjects based on the possible time that
may take.
For an effective time table you should keep in your view efficiency
patterns. Generally you can have the following:
4 am to 1pm high efficiency pattern
2 pm to 6pm less efficiency pattern
7 pm to 11pm high efficiency pattern
It comes around 19 hours in a day, if you take out 3 hours’ time for food,
prayers and relaxation, you can have 16 hours of study every day. Divide
the available time in view of the total subjects. You can spend almost two
and half hours per subject per day. It is more than enough to carry out
effective study. Make sure of taking out some time every day for the
revision of the subjects studied.
In view of this principle description you can commence your study from
morning 4 and relaxed in the night at 11pm. I would prefer you should
wake up early and sleep max at 11pm in the night. Avoid night outs.
To excel in the exams you need to concentrate on others factors also. Time
table is just a time management. You need to focus on your health. Focus
on remembering things that you have studied.

(25) Best way of utilizing the time after regular work hours Effective utilization of time depends on the clarity of thoughts and well
directed actions. If you have a specified goal, the time is sure to be your
companion. As you said you have attempted a stage of learning but not
convinced with the progress, the situation is a stand still.

Now, either you can learn anything that could be a supplement to your
actual job or chose anything that fascinates you, but be sure of remaining
within the precincts of decided goal. Actually the journey on the path of
struggle continues the way one set his direction. You can’t run in opposite
direction if your face is facing a goal in the front.
This is human nature that inclines to be more receptive to a set direction
and continues to move ahead. So the more you focus, the more you
achieve, this is what we mean by healthy competition:
ا فاستبقا الخيراث لي م ت ج لنل Everyone has a direction towards which he turns; so try to excel one
another in good works (Ch 2 – Al-Baqarah: 148)
(26) How to stay upbeat all the time? Staying upbeat and passionately charged is quite a unique quality. But, I
think it can’t be a matter of 24 x 7 as mood sometimes spoils the show. On
a realistic note, I would go with a thought that, to remain always upbeat
depends on:
Definiteness of purpose
Decisive strategy
Strict personal evaluation
Disciplined life
Realization of Self
Realization of the path of progress
Realistic with regard to the ups and downs of the moods.
If these traits are habitual, they together with God-oriented heart and mind
ensure a positive and buoyant attitude. Once Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
said:
جله ، فإوه أزيه ألمرك مل عسه الله صيل بتق أI ordained you to adopt Taqwa (piety, God-fearing), it adorns all your
affairs (Baihaqi)
(27) Why confidence level fluctuates? The confidence level doesn’t remain static; it is dynamic in nature, so one

self-confidence is all about actions and there certainty, you need to assess
the results and consequences of the actions performed. Don’t ever be
judgmental; every act of assessment has to be a moral boost.

إل ما يىفع قة االحجام امساما عما يضريThe soul has a force of driving and daring and also an ability of restraint

(29) How to overcome distractions, suggest some practical ways? Distraction is a condition or state of mind in which the attention is
diverted from an original focus or interest. It is a mental disturbance. Like,
noise, improper room conditions, family members or friends intervention,
mobile, TV and internet usage, sleeplessness, personal issues etc.
Distraction is one of the most common problems students face, in
particular during the examination period. The students want to get good
grades. They have their own promises. Expectations of parents and
teachers are high. Amidst these imperatives students tend to feel
distractions.
While studying, feelings of distraction actually invite your attention
towards something which could be potentially dangerous. Better if you
concentrate hard to get rid of them. To have a control over unwanted
feelings, you need to be sharp focused. Some of the practical ways are:
Selection of place – Ambiance does matter; select a comfortable,
quietest and a bit spacious place for your studies.
