Ness Countycommissionersmet on June 22 The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday, June 22, at 9:00 a.m. in the EOC building. Chairman David L. Albers called the meeting to order with Commissioners Sandra Y. Rupp, Mark Davis and County Clerk Cassie Foster in attendance. Minutes and Correspondence Minutes of the June 15 regular meeting were read and approved. Correspondence was reviewed and acknowledged.
Commission Motion: Upon the motion of Rupp, seconded by Davis, Commission voted unanimously to recess into executive session to discuss an employee incident pursuant to the non-elected per-sonnel matter exception, K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(1) for a period of 10 minutes beginning at 9:08 a.m. (Albers, Davis, Rupp and Foster in executive session). Regular session resumed at 9:18 a.m. No decisions were made.
Road and Bridge/Landfill Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson and assistant L. D. Ochs presented the weekly work schedule. $265.00 was received in landfill tipping fees June 11-13. 900 yards of dirt and 480 yards of sand was hauled last week. Road concerns were re-viewed and discussed. Maintenance and equipment were discussed. Landfill hours for the up-coming holiday weekend were discussed.
Emergency Management Emergency Manager Travis Rothe gave updates on masks that the county will be receiving. Rothe discussed the SPARK program.
Noxious Weed Travis Rothe updated Commission on the spray truck maintenance.
Accounts Payable Accounts payable checks and vouchers were reviewed and approved.
Clerk Mile reimbursements were discussed. The meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m.

Important Voting Information
Tuesday, July 14th – Last day to register to vote for the Primary Election Personal Protective Equipment such as masks, hand sanitizer, and disposable stylus for electronic voting will be available for each voter at all voting locations. Social distancing will be required and marked as necessary. Poll workers will sanitize voting ma-chines after each use. Please ensure hands are dry from washing/sanitizing before using touch screen. I f y o u a r e i l l , have tested positive for COVID-19, have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive, or have traveled to a known hot spot, please contact the County Clerk ’s Office prior to entering a building. We will have different voting options available to you, such as curb side voting, where a paper ballot will be brought to your vehicle.All entrances, exits, and restrooms will be handicap accessible. Advance ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day. Advance ballots may be hand-delivered to the County Clerk’s Office or to the Ness City Polling Place prior to close of polls.
