I hope that parents and pupils feel refreshed after the half term break as we head into the busy second half of term and Christmas.
Congratulations The following children completed ‘I’m a Lexia Superstar’ and were presented with certificates in assembly:
Oliver Ebbrell (Level 7) Dylan Armstrong (Level 8) Matteo Caruso (Level 10) Ruby Wates (Level 12) Max Halfhide (Level 14)
Claudia George (1RM) received a coveted Blue Peter Badge recently from the BBC in recognition of a home-made rocket and picture of the Blue Peter crew she submitted over the holidays.
Safety in the Car Park In Assembly on Monday, I reminded the children about the importance of safety around the car park area at pick up time, particularly since the clocks have gone back. Please ensure that children do not walk across the car park but use the path in front of the Sports Hall and the crossing.
When exiting the school and driving down Rydal Close please remember that traffic wishing to come up Rydal Close has priority, as per the road signage. There have been a number of incidents recently where drivers have failed to give way.
Drop off in the morning is always busy and I would encourage parents to drop and go as quickly as possible. Please don’t park in front of the Reception and pop in to the Office.
Remembrance Day I was delighted to see a wonderful Remembrance display by Year 8 in the Atrium on my return from half term. Many thanks to the Art and English Departments and the children for the success of their collaboration. Parents are welcome to come and have a look – but please sign in at the Office first.
On Thursday, Year 8 presented a Remembrance Assembly and on Sunday the Heads of School will be laying a wreath on behalf of the School at the War Memorial in Tunbridge Wells.

Head’s Lines continued
Eastbourne College—Hotel Du Vin Eastbourne College will be holding an ‘Information Evening’ at the Hotel du Vin in Tun-bridge Wells on Thursday 12 November, 6.00 – 8.00pm. This will be an ideal opportunity for parents to meet staff from the College and to learn a little more about the superb opportunities we are able to offer full-boarding and day pupils. We hope to have the pleasure of meeting a number of current Rose Hill School parents at this event.
Magazine I hope that families have enjoyed the new School Magazine which arrived yesterday. Many thanks to all the contributors and especially to Kathryn Clark in the school office for masterminding another great publication.
Digital Parenting Magazine
Vodafone has recently published Issue 4 of their excellent magazine, Digital Parenting, for parents and carers of children of all ages. The latest issue in-cludes articles about cyberbullying, sexting and extremism and brings together advice from academics, psychologists and other experts to help keep young people safe in the digital world.
A physical copy has been given to your children today, however if you wish to view it online, you can do so by going to http://vodafonedigitalparenting.co.uk. More information and access to previous copies can also be found on their website.
