Rain or shine the FYMS May Fair will take place on Saturday afternoon.

After weeks of planning, FYMS has organised a fantastic array of stalls and events as well as tasty food to tempt you. Come along and join in the fun - the May Fair is always a wonderful afternoon out for the whole family.

Pupils who are performing in school events are usually expected to wear school uniform but the informal nature of the May Fair makes this an exception. A list of scheduled events is on page 3.

Charlie is IAPS National Runner-UpCharlie Curran swam superbly to finish as runner up in the IAPS National Swimming Finals. Charlie was one of four Yateley Manor pupils who qualified to represent the school in last weekend’s finals.

Each year more than 200 prep schools from around England enter their best swimmers into the twenty qualifying events of the IAPS National Swimming Championships. Frimley Park Children’s Unit

On Friday we welcomed Jo Higson from Frimley Park Children’s Unit, our charity of the year, to assembly. Jo spoke to the children about her role within the Unit, the work the Unit does with children and how it supports families as well as their patients themselves. She also gave some insight into how the money the School has raised will be spent which included beds for families, Xboxes and toys for the patients and coffee machines all of which help patients and their families when they are most vulnerable.

Jo also received a cheque for £2,358.95 which has been raised since the Children’s Unit was chosen as the School’s Charity of the Year.

The Yateley Manor Whole School Photograph will be taken on the morning of Thursday 26th May.

These photographs are only taken every three years and we would like as many children as possible to be in the photo. Please therefore do not book any medical or dental appointments for your child for this morning. Thank you.

The weather was favourable on Saturday when a coach full of supporters and onlookers set off early from school to visit the famous Badminton Horse Trials on cross country day. Everyone agreed that whether you have an avid interest in equestrian sport or not, it was a most enjoyable day out. Set in the Duke of Beaufort’s estate and flanked by the magnificent Badminton House, the four mile cross country course was walked by most visitors during the day, with stops along the way to watch the world’s top eventers tackle the challenging technical fences that make it such a popular four star event. The children, parents, staff and friends were possibly as exhausted as the competitors when the coach left for home at the end of the day.

More than 80 children from Kingsley and Stanley Houses camped overnight in the school grounds last Friday. The group were extremely lucky with the dry and warm weather and had a fabulous time playing games including capture the flag, late night swimming, a camp fire and midnight feasts.

The children were very well fed with a BBQ supper, marshmallows and hot chocolate around the camp fire before bed and bacon rolls and cereal for breakfast.

Thank you to the parents who helped set up and strike camp, the staff who stayed overnight and those who helped in the evening or morning.

The Kazhdan Family (Ronnie 5ESB and Adi 3GJR) for their donation of books for Pre-Prep.

The Jeyadevan Family (Himaani 3EMR) for their donation of books for the Nursery..

Thank You To ...
