30th July, 2021 Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Assalamu alaykum wa Rahmatullahi
wa Barakaatuhu
NSW Government announced an extension to
the lockdown of Greater Sydney in-order to
contain the COVID-19 outbreak. The NSW
Premier has announced that NSW schools will
continue to operate under learning from home
arrangements until at least the end of Week 7,
Term 3 (Friday, 27th August 2021).
Special arrangements for Year 12 and Year 11
Compression Students
Parents of Year 12 and Year 11 Compression
students must refer to the separate
correspondence sent to you outlining the latest
information and advice.
Updates on remote learning for Kindergarten to
Year 11 and information on special
arrangements for Year 12, including the revised
HSC Trials timetable were emailed to parents on
28th July, 2021.
HSC trials have been extended until 16th August.
This aligns well with announcement made this
week of the proposed return to school of Year 12
students. This will allow the Trial Examinations to
take place on each campus, rather than through
remote learning. However, I must stress that the
situation is very fluid and there is limited
information available at this stage. Mr. Hamper
and his team continue to plan for all contingencies,
including for a remote learning format for the
examinations.
It is possible, and even likely, that some further
changes will be made to this timetable, particularly
around the possible reduction in length of the
examinations.
Wellbeing
During these unprecedented times, the Well-
being team will be available to help your child
during this pandemic and offer support. Starting
from today, there will be well-being videos from
Mr Saddik outlining each week’s home room
bulletin as well as sport and fitness classes that
all primary students will be able to watch and
enjoy.
Daily Online Islamic Reminder
Students, parents, and carers are invited to join
us live online at 1:15 pm every day from Monday
to Friday. A short Islamic Reminder is presented
Monday to Thursday by one of our Islamic
Department Teachers. On Friday, the khutbah
(sermon) is streamed live via Teams. The aim of
this program is to assist students with their
spiritual wellbeing while experiencing the
challenges of learning from home. It is also an
opportunity for students to hear from teachers
they may not normally meet. All you need to do
on the day is join the calendar event on Teams
by 1:13 pm. We look forward to you joining us
online Inshaa Allah.
Subject Selection – Stage 6 - Year 11
During Term 3, students are given the
opportunity to decide on the subjects they wish
to study in Stage 6. Below are two links that
2
provide some good advice that Year 10 students
can access to help them decide the right subjects
for them.

Remote learning for High School
Attendance – it is extremely important that all
students attend the remote lessons as per the
timetable. Teachers are covering the content in
every subject and students must attend all
classes to avoid missing the lesson covered.

K-2 News
The Year 1's certainly did not disappoint us and
ultimately took online education in their stride.
They have been actively and enthusiastically
participating, answering and submitting their
work. The teachers are so very proud of each
student, and we certainly hope they keep up this
energy during this very tough period.

Years 3-6 News
Students have been submitting outstanding
work, including the tasks set by teachers every
week to be completed and submitted as
Assignments on Teams. Feedback, in the form of
comments is provided by the teachers, whereby
parents can see the progress their child is
making. Congratulations to you all as we
continue to work together as a team to ensure
that our students’ safety, wellbeing, and
education is at our utmost priority. They
continue to produce good quality work and
participate in the online lessons daily.
