Domestic Violence

• Bharti Foundation– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 254

• States of Operation: West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000

Introduction

About the Community

• Geographical Location: It is established in village Achrol, Amer in dist.- Jaipur Raj

• Cultural Background: People are very poor, They based on agriculture or daily labour. The role of girl child is not good they treat as labour for work.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: The of Satya Bharti School is as a Model School of the village, It’s a learning temple.

• Participation in ‘Design for Giving’ School Contest: School participated in Design for Giving for ‘Gender discrimination’

Problem that bothered us- Domestic violence • A problem of our community

which effected us very much ..……

Why we choose it-• Low attendance of classrooms was very big

issue for all teachers. When they tried to know reason, they found many of students' families having the issue of domestic violence in their homes. Most of the mothers of the children are not staying with her husband.

• All teacher accepted this is a big challenge of this community, and we must get any solution of this problem.

List of Solutions-

• Effective communication with students and with their parents.

• Awareness of children.• Awareness to stop alcohol drinking.

( Alcohol is major reason of domestic violence.

• Rally by students.

Our story of change-

• All staff organized a meeting to discuss this challenge. And planned ‘ how can we bring change?”

Communication with students-

teachers did communication with students, we found this is a major issue of student’s homes. Father of the children are heavy drinker and they used to all money which

earn and when they return home cause many problems for all family,
