We took initiative to clean the concern area from where rain water can be harvested.Aware the people about rain water harvesting.Help to collect the water in tanks from rooftops.Condition of under ground water tanks

Water availability sources are limited here so people have to carry the drinking water from 15 kilometers away. They have to pay 1300 to 1500 for a water tanker. Maximum no. of people are depended on agriculture even they are not able to pay this sum for a water tanker. People have to spend much amount of their earning for water.

How to harvest the rain water

ROOF TOP RAIN WATER HARVESTING- In this system the rain water is collected from the rooftop to storage tank through pipes.PLAIN GROUND WATER HARVESTING- In this system the rain water is collected through drains to water tanks.

Rain Water Harvesting is a simple, economical and eco friendly technique of preserving every drop of water by guiding the rain water that falls to bore wells, pits and well through pipes.

Preserving the rain water in the under ground tanks through pipes from the rooftop and through the drainage system so that there could be collected the water for whole year..

1.Students were divided into groups.2. Aware the people the implication of rain water harvesting.3.The entire plan of ten days was discussed and made ready for implementation.

Understand the people and make them realize WATER IS PRECIOUS and it should be harvested and collected for future.

12th Sept 2011.To start the campaign an exhibition cum rally was organized in the village.The rally has slogans on water and its conservation.Through the rally students appeal for water harvest sought change in approach.The rally has 3 meeting points where gathered people were addressed by the students.The rally gave us the start as the topic taken up was very emotional & no one before us has dared to talk about water & Rest of the day was utilized in slogan writing.

13th SeptemberThe children set out for the community outreach and saw the water storage tanks and its condition. After that they cleaned the concern area and drains from where water comes to the tanks.14th September15th Sept and 17th SeptemberAware the parents and understand water harvesting implication. Gradually people realized and come out to support us for the change.18th Sept. and 19th Sept.Told about the rooftop cleanliness from where water can be harvested.
