Promoting Girl Child Education
• Bharti Foundation
– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.
– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.
• Satya Bharti School Program
– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.
– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.
– The program goal is to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students
– The promise of this large scale program, through its operation, is to create a replicable, scalable and holistic model of quality education in rural India
– Present Operational Status:
• Number of Schools Operational: 256
• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu, West Bangal
• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000
Introduction
Geographical Location:
– Fathepura is situated very near to National High Way No.8 (Delhi – Jaipur High Way).
– The nearest Govt. Sr. Secondary School, is in Pipli which is aprrox. 4-5kms. – The nearest Government Primary Health Centre is in Dhundaria which is
aprrox. 5 kms from Fathepura. – The nearest Post office is in Pipli.– The nearest Police station is Neemrana ,which is approx. 10 km form the
village.– The nearest market is Neemrana which is approx. 10 km form the village.– Drinking water facility provided by government and constructed water supply
tank, apart from this Hand pumps and bore wells are other source of water.– The main occupation of villagers are agriculture, working in Private Factories
& some people are doing their own Business.. – The village is well connected with roads and connecting to NH 8.– The village is very near to Japanese Zone and Indian Export Promotion Zone
of RICCO.

Cultural Background
– Majority of the population belongs to Hindu community .– Dominant cast in village is Bawariya. – The villagers followed the all Hindu rituals and festivals.– The dressing style of community is long white Kurta & Dhoti / Pant &
Shirt, for men and women dressing style is Ghagra & Odhni/suite and salwar.
– It’s a mix culture of Rajasthan & Hariyana as Hariyana border is very close to this location.
– They are the followers of all Hindu God & Goddess. – It is Men dominant community and they are the main decision makers.– The Bawariya cast is known for making Local Wine.

• Girl child education should be promoted and the female kids should be brought to the school. Girl child campaign will be conducted once again in which community people will be counseled to send their daughters to school and Colleges rather then marrying them in early age.
We ‘Imagined’:

importance of Education.
We ‘Did’:
• The community members understand the importance of Girl Education and assured us they will provide an opportunity to their daughters for further studies.
• Girls now become more confident and willing to continue their education rather then getting married in early age.
Impact on Community:
• Understand the felt need of community and work on it which gives new learning to us.
• Girl Child feel proud to be a part of this campaign and become change agents in the community.
• They are curious to do such activity in near future and willing to do something different from their daily routine work.

• “ Siksha Sab ka Adhikar hai aur use koi kise se cheen nahai sakta hia, han ye jarur hai ki hamare gaon ki ladkiya kam padti likhti hai kunki unki saadiya jaldi ho jati hai, lekin aaj hamre chote bahcho ne jis tarha Nari siksha ka prachar kiya ye kabile tarif hai aur mai manta hun ki hamare pure goan ne aaj kuch seek jarur le hogi aur bahwisya mai apni bachiyon ko padhai ka pura moka denge”.

It was great opportunity for us to do something special for our village and be a change agent in village. I am happy that people understand the importance of Girls Education & many of villagers assured us they will send their daughters to school / college.
