• Do not use iCare to lubricate air scalers and Phatelus air motors. The iCare lubricating system is not designed to lubricate those particular products. Maintain air scalers and Phatelus air motors as described in the operation manual for each product.

• If blood infiltrates inside a handpiece, iCare may not totally clean the internal handpiece components, and internal blood coagulation may cause product failure. In this case, NSK recommends to immediately lubricate those handpieces with PANA SPRAY Plus.

4. LUBRICATION • Essential after thermo-disinfection • Essential prior to sterilization process

Manual : Lubricate handpiece using NSK PANA SPRAY Plus. To prevent mist spray from escaping into the environment, use absorbent cloth. Purge excess lubricant from handpiece with air.

Automated : Clean and lubricate handpieces with NSK iCare. Be sure to use the right adaptor for each handpiece.

5. STERILIZATION Place handpieces in a sterilization pouch and seal them. EN13060 4.6.3 recommends autoclaving for 20 minutes (minimum holding time) at 121˚C or 15 minutes (minimum holding time) at 132˚C. NSK recommends Class B or S sterilization. (All NSK handpieces are autoclavable up to 135˚C)

6. STORAGE After the sterilization cycle, immediately remove handpieces from the autoclave. Keep them in dust-free, sterilized storage or bring them to a treatment room for use.

1. PREPARATION Electric & slow speed : Remove the handpiece from the electric motor and detach the bur from the chuck.

Air driven : Remove the handpiece from the coupler and detach the bur from the chuck. Bring instruments to a dedicated decontamination area. Remove organic contaminants with a paper wipe.

2. CLEANING Manual : Clean the external surface of handpiece with running water (<38˚C, demineralised water recommended).Automated NSK handpieces with this symbol are thermo-disinfector-ready and therefore may be washed

and disinfected using a thermo-disinfector. When using a thermo-disinfector, be sure to follow its manufacturer's instructions.

Cleaning of Cartridge & Handpiece Body of Air driven

Remove head cap and take out cartridge.

Take out cleaning pin at the rear end of the brush, and insert it straight into the water spray nozzle.The water hole may be damaged if the pin is not inserted straight or forced into the hole. The damage may cause water not being sprayed at right angles. Use attached NSK Nozzle Cleaning Pin. Using a cleaning pin from another manufacturer other than NSK may cause improper direction of water spray.

Make sure the pin reaches the upper chase (chip air chase) and then clean debris there by using cleaning brush.

Blow air from the bur side by using syringe.

When placing the cartridge back in the head, be sure that O-ring is set properly in place.

Insert the needle for cleaning nozzle into spray hole from the head side. Remove adhesion of dirt inward. Attach the handpiece to the coupler, run the handpiece idly with water.

Lubricate the chuck directly through the bur insertion hole to remove dirt and cutting powder from the chuck.

Manual : Using NSK PANA SPRAY Plus, Mount the arrow-head spray nozzle tip into the spray can port and spray for 2 seconds.

Automated : Using NSK iCare, follow the system instructions.
