What is the India Compulsory RegistrationScheme?The Department of Electronics and IT (DIETY) requiresmandatory certification for 30 electronic products,including power adaptors for IT equipment, audio videoand similar electronic apparatus, as well as mobile phones and smart card readers. This is regulated by the Bureau of

Indian Standards (BIS), under the Compulsory Registration Scheme. The Compulsory Registration Scheme requires that electrical and electronic products, whether imported or manufactured domestically, are tested to the relevant standards at BIS accredited laboratories in India. Conformity to the standard is ensured through testing of samples.
