Shishir Hiray, special public prosecutor for the prosecution, sought the warrant from the special court in a marathon submission and told the court that they have ample evidence against Kulkarni and Goswami and their alleged involvement in the drug case as prime accused. Based on the confession of an arrested accused, Hiray said that Kulkarni and Goswami are main culprits in the case and had set up a well-oiled drug cartel. LOS ANGELES, (PTI) Josh Safran, the showrunner of Priyanka Chopra's "Quantico", has teased that the upcoming episodes will deal with President Donald Trump and his policies. "Quantico" debuted its lat- est series reboot on Monday in the US, effectively swapping in Trump for terrorism and kicking off the plot for the remaining nine episodes in the ABC drama's second season. Since Trump's election, "Quantico", like many shows currently airing on broadcast and cable, has shifted its lens away from fantasy in a bid to reflect more of today's real-life political climate and cultural landscape. "We're in sort of a paradigm shift for the show," Safran tells The Hollywood Reporter. "We're now looking at the ways in which people profit off of terror and it allows us to build a plot around something that is real and possible." When asked if there are too many shows tackling Trump on TV, Safran says, "We're not special. That's the role of art in any time, to reflect the time that it's in. If it's a time of good prosperity, often we don't look to politics to write about, we look to write about different times or different period of strife in peoples' lives. Were you spying on me? I can't confess to a secret." When someone in the audience said Kareena, Shahid gave a quick reply saying, "How is it a secret madam. It is a world secret. Do you have a question or you just want to take the name." When no question was asked by the audience member, the actor joked, "She does not want to ask a questions. On the face of it, "Phillauri" is the story of a reluctant groom guided bya ghost who helps him overcome his fears about marriage. Set inPunjab, "Phillauri" star ts off as a simple story about an NRI Punjabiboy Kanan (Suraj Sharma) who returns to India to get married to hischildhood sweethear t Anu (Mehreen Pirzada). Being star-crossed - aManglik, he must marry a tree first, so that he may ward off any threatto his life. Reluctantly, he gets married to a tree and to his dismay, finds himselfbeing trailed by Shashi (Anushka Sharma) - a friendly spirit.Shashi used to live on the tree which Kanan married. And when thetree was chopped down as a par t of the wedding ritual - Shashi findsherself thrown into Kanan's world, not knowing what to do and figur-ing how she is facing such a predicament. In the course of the film'sjourney we find the tale layered with a poignant, unfulfilled romanticstory of a poet and a singer which in turn becomes the centre-plot ofthe film. Anushka Sharma in a new avatar, as the solemn yet friendlyghost, Shashi, essays her role with her usual panache and sincerity. Her chemistry with Diljit Dosanjh is palpable and he too portrays hischaracter with equal simplicity and ease.Suraj Sharma with his grumpy and confused demeanour essays Kananeffor tlessly. Mehreen Pirzada in her debut, as the on-the-fringe brideAnu, is confident and realistic. She aptly complements Suraj. Whilethe first half of the film meanders after establishing the premise, it isonly during the second half, that the film ensures you are gripped inits emotional saga. There are moments in the narrative that seemridiculous, as these are intentionally induced to add humour to theotherwise sombre narrative. While the screenplay oscillates between the present and Punjab dur-ing pre-independence period, the scenes bring out the contrast in the

culture. This is especially evident in the pre-wedding scenes of thetwo couples. Visually, the film is captured like a dramatised televi-sion serial but never theless it is magnificent. The production quali-ties as well as the costumes are painstakingly designed capturingthe era of 1919 with flourish, in sepia tinted frames. The effects and computergenerated images are flawless and of ace quality. They mesh seamlessly with thelive action drama. The music of the film is melodious, especially the soulfulnumber "Sahiba". But it is the number with the lyrics 'Mera dil fakira ho gaya'along with 'Dum dum' that captures the essence of the romance toperfection. "Phillauri" is a well made film from debutant director AnshaiLal and is wor th a watch.

Is Gawli biopic a propaganda film?MUMBAI, (PTI) Actor Arjun Rampal says his upcoming biopic on jailed gangster-turned-politician ArunGawli is not an image-building exercise and steers clear of glorifying anything that is undesirable. The film, "Daddy", is based on Gawli (61), who is serving a life sentence in a murder case."We made it sure that this is not going to be a propaganda film around a character where you aregoing to be showing him as a good guy, or por traying him in a different image. It's not an image-building film. We were excited with his life and that's what we wanted to explore."The actor says the team had to convince his family that the story will be handled sensitively andGawli himself didn't want to be shown as a "hero. It took a lot of time to convince the family butfor tunately they came on board. When Arun Gawli came out on parole we had the oppor tunity tomeet him. He said, 'I don't want to be shown as a hero. Tell my story the way it is'," says Arjun. The 44-year-old actor was speaking at a special session on the making of "Daddy" at the 18thedition of FICCI Frames last evening. The film is directed by Ashim Ahluwalia and will mark his forayinto mainstream cinema after his feature-length documentary "John & Jane" and "Miss Lovely", both ofwhich bagged National Awards. Arjun says he was initially approached to play Gawli by another set ofproducers but it was so far removed from real life that he "hated" it.

Richa: Industry didn't consider me good looking; are you?MUMBAI, (PTI) Actress Richa Chadha says the Hindi film industry didn't consider her good lookingbecause of her skin colour and body type. "For the longest time, for most of the industry, I was not goodlooking. I was good looking only for my mom and dad, because I was dusky, didn't have a model-likefigure." The actress was speaking at the session 'Breaking the glass ceiling of misogyny in Indianmedia and enter tainment' at the 18th edition of FICCI Frames here. The session was moderated by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. Asked if there is a difference between theapproach of male and female directors, Richa says her myth burst soon while working with MiraNair. "My third big job in life was to work with Mira Nair to assist in a shor t film, which hasn't beenreleased yet. I observed how she walked into the set and commended respect without ever raisingher voice."It was a bustling crew which would often fall silent, not out of fear but respect... I saw this womandirector, who could be my friend, could also be maternal towards me and I learnt so much from that. It's fun to work with good director, irrespective of gender." Actress Tannishtha Chatterjee, who hasfeatured in several award-winning films, helmed by both male and female directors, says the issueisn't gender specific. "It's very individual. It's not gender specific at all. You can have a very insensi-tive female director and a very sensitive male director. It's not gender specific." Tannishtha believesmuch of the gender divide in the country can be addressed and solved if the films star t showcasing femalecharacters differently.

Then she got into the dubbing and promotions of "Half Girlfriend",where she plays a Delhi girl. "'Haseena' and Riya Somani in 'Half Girlfriend' are two very different characters. Luke Pither scored the lone goal ofthe game near the end of the second period to help the Beastend their season series with the playoff-bound Komets with anexcellent 4-0-1-0 record. The first period may have been scoreless but it wasn't without itsfair share of action. The Beast ran into penalty trouble in theopening frame and found themselves shor thanded three times, including a pair of 5-on-3 advantages for the Komets but Fucale andthe Beast fended them all off. The Komets outshot the Beast 17-6after 20 minutes. Brampton's stellar defensive play continued to

hold in the second period as the Beast managed to kill off anothertwo penalties. The Beast offense picked up as well, as they fired 12shots on goal to For t Wayne's six. Just as it seemed that there wasgoing to be another straight scoreless period, Luke Pither sent ascreaming one-timer toward Komets star ter Pat Nagle at 19:47.After appearing to make save, the puck slowly tumbled over thegoaltender's glove and trickled over the goal line, giving Pither his16th goal of the season. It would have been a tense third period if it wasn't for the stellargoaltending effor t from Fucale. He added another six saves to histotal and fended off a strong For t Wayne attack to give the Beastsome breathing room atop the Nor th Division standings.Brampton's penalty kill was nothing shor t of incredible on Sundayafternoon as the Beast killed off all eight opposition opportunities.
