Hi. Looking for Brian Green Brian I am missing an Idle screw for my It 490. I have one from Keyster made in Japan but it won't fit and has a very fine thread motorcycle repair kit K-1424yk. Do you have one in your bag of tricks left over from the shop or can give me an idea of the thread details so I can run a tap through it.

Donnelly River Three Day Hub RallyDonnelly River Three Day Hub Rally

11th-13th August 2021.

Sixteen people attended this event including six from the Albany Classic Club as well as two additional IHC members who made the trip down South to join us for lunch.

The weather was with us for a change, with mostly sunny/cloudy skies with only a ten minute shower after lunch on Day 2.

The Quinninup Tavern put on a great lunch as usual.

The roads were very quiet with virtually no traffic at that time during the week.

So no major incidents or customers for the backup vehicle. Any minor mechanical incidents & there were some with the older machines, were solved along the way.

Evenings were spent socialising in one of the three cottages which the group had booked for the event.

Thoroughly enjoyable & all I think went home happy with how things went.

Vice Capt.

The Indian Harley Club must announce with sadness the death of Martin Basten. Martin was a popular member of the Busselton section of our club. We send our condolences to his wife Ellie and family and friends. Martin was a keen motorcyclist and was a well known motocross champion in the Goldfields motorcycle club.

He joined the Indian Harley Club and rode with the Busselton Group, always a Triumph man.

His cheery persona will be sadly missed, by his club mates and the friends and family who gathered at Terry Germain’s workshop every other Wednesday for morning tea.

The Busso boys 3 day 2 night annual ride is on again.

The dates are the 17th   18th   19th  of November 2021.  Busso boys will leave at the normal place (PUMA),  Bunbury from the car park at Brunswick,  Mandurah Mob from Nth Dandalup servo.  Sorry Manjimup you will have to meet at one of these.

The ride this year will take us through the scenic wheatbelt, Great Southern, into the Southwest to finish.  As it is some time off yet the route sheet will be published at a later date  to make sure we dodge road works etc.

Day one we will be stopping overnight at Cunderdin at the famous  Ettamogah Pub.  Day 2 we will travel through the South Eastern wheatbelt stopping at Narrogin overnight.  Day 3 travelling south to finish in Capel.  This will be a casual ride with plenty of stops for morning and arvo tea plus lunch etc  to suit all types of  riders.

Back-up will be provided - so your 404 bikes can be ridden just make sure they are up to the task. Back-up will carry a bag for you as well.  In the coming weeks accommodation details will be published as things are confirmed. If anybody knows some interesting sites etc on the route please let us know so we can include them.

If you feel you can’t do the 3 days then do one, come in the car or do a bit of both.   Remember our great club is as much about the people and the camaraderie as the bikes….. Just remember the back-up will be doing the complete route so if you decide to exit at any point you will be on your own.

The weather then, will be perfect so here’s to a great roll up.

COST!!!!!      All costs will be your responsibility plus a small fee for the back-up.

SO FOR NOW PUT THE DATES ON THE CALENDAR…..( This will be Busso Boys  second mid week ride in Nov ) Route sheets will be added closer to the event.

Any enquiries please contact one of the Busso Boys or me..

IHC 50th Anniversary

Busselton Mid Week 4th August

Busselton Mob Mid Week Ride : 4th August 2021

After several weeks of wet horrendous weather, we scored a great day – sunny, no wind and no rain. And 23 riders showed up to enjoy the adventure.

This being my last ride as Busselton leader, I just had to choose my favourite route. Destination being Donnybrook via Capel, Upper Capel Road to Kirup for a leg/bum break, then Brookhampton, Wildmere and Charlie Creek roads to the main highway and the best bakery in the town. About 123klms all up, plus the home run. We picked up riders at both Capel and Jon Beames (Nannup member) near Donnybrook.

Peter Duncan helped out as the TEC and Phil Bussanich shepherded the ride home to Busselton.

Being a retired accountant, I have to toss in a few numbers relevant to my two years as the Busso Mob ride leader.

Number of rides = 52

Number of rider/rides = 917 = average 18 riders per ride, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 35

Estimated number of kilometres by riders = 183,400

Top participants (excluding me) :-

• 1st - Peter Whiteside = 43 rides, 83% attendance

• 2nd Equal - Peter Duncan = 37 rides, 71% attendance

• 2nd Equal - Phil Bussanich = 37 rides, 71% attendance

• 3rd - Tom French = 28 rides, 54% attendance

Sorry for this detail, due apologies, but you just can’t hold some of us back from this stuff.

Subject to due election procedures, Peter Mitchell will be the new Busso Ride Leader from the AGM date. Thank you Peter.

NVMR 2021 Sharon Rudler spoke on their recent committee meeting (20 Members) and one of their resolutions was to return all the entry fees to all eastern state riders, as they are unable to attend due to Covid19 lock downs in various states and territories. Secondly, they were renaming the event as the WAVR (WA Veteran Rally) which still has some thirty-eight entrants. We still have twenty-five supporters, three back up drivers and other supporters. The rally is still being run in a similar format, some venues have fallen through, and other arrangements have, had to be made. A big thanks to John Anderson and his wife for travelling to Manjimup to organise road closures. Also, a big thankyou to Bob Whittingstall from Albany and Kelvin Mears from Perth for assisting with the event. The event is running from the 17/10 for one-week, veteran bike display from 11am to 1pm in the main street on the Wednesday. The event starts with a small run to Deanmill on the Sunday, with a run to Northcliffe on the Monday, a ride to Nannup on the Tuesday with a display, swap meet, demonstrations in casting and pipe making on the Wednesday. On the Thursday there will be a ride to Pemberton and on the Friday a ride to Quinninup and final dinner. If you have a veteran bike in a shed its not too late to enter. freedoms than many in this world. The club is in a sound financial position which has allowed us to accept the risk and cost of planning events while knowing there could be a late notice Covid cancellation. Our premier event, the Two-Day Rally came soon after a lockdown but turned out to be a great success with our biggest field yet of 200 entrants. We started the period with an all-new executive committee so there have been some steep learning curves as we got to know our new roles. Sadly, our new Secretary found the role wasn’t a good fit for his life, so we had a changing of the guard after the new year. The previous committee set some good initiatives in place which we have carried on and as the need for change has become known we have adopted some new strategies. First of these was to allow the new magazine Editor freedom to make some changes to the ‘Classic Vibrations’ and we have seen the vibrant new on-line version come alive. Tortoise rides then entered the calendar firstly alongside the mid-week ride, and later in their own timeslot on a Friday. The committee approved requests to trial some Restricted Themed rides such as the Norton Singles Run and the Side-Valve Challenge which have proven popular, so this is now presented as an addition to the By-Laws if accepted at tonight’s meeting. External Changes we have seen include the opening of the Bunbury Geographe Motor Museum (BGMM) and the adoption of the new Concessions for Classics (C4C) scheme. The BGMM is a positive sign of the growth of the historic motoring movement in our region and our members have been supporters of this with numerous display bikes. The Department of Transport’s C4C scheme has been adopted by some historic motoring clubs and we may do so as well if the need arises. For now, though, it is wait and see. The main concern this year is protecting our concessions under the Code 404 scheme we use. I look forward to the next 12 months as new challenges present themselves and we continue to grow as a highly regarded and inclusive club. Michael Rock President Secretary’s Report Nil

Captains Report We had a busy ride calendar this year, very pleased with the number of members in particular John Lewin and Frank Barron stepping up to organise rides, which has made my role and the captains’ role much easier. The annual Two-Day Rally for this year was once again a success, even with the possibility of Covid 19 affecting the ride. We’ve also had several events that were new for this year, in particularly the Norton Singles Run, Holland Track Side Valve Challenge and the AJS/Matchless Ride. The Mandurah Mob have once again organised a fantastic Mandurah Mob Meander and have been successful in increasing the general membership of their section. The Mandurah Mob represent about 30 members in their section, with 4 new members joining recently owning various motorcycles including BSA and Triumphs. They have a monthly ride and meeting

and enjoy motorcycles and riding motorcycles. They enjoy the Two-Day Rally, Busselton events and the Wheatbelt Runs with the AGM being an important meeting (Graeme Squires) The Busso Mid-week rides have been quite successful under the guidance of John Lewin with having regular attendees and running two if not three events per a month. This is John’s last year organising the runs with Peter Mitchell taking over the reins. John Lewin stated that over the last 24 months, they have held 52 rides, minimum riders on one run 3, with a maximum of 35 with an average of 18 riders per ride. They have had a total of 917 rides and riders combined, travelling a total distance of 187,400kms. With most attended rides going to Peter Whiteside on 83%, second John Lewin on 73% and equal third Phil Bussanich and Peter Duncan on 71%. Peter was presented with a printout of all the rides and a cheque for $100,000. John Lewin introduced us to Peter Mitchell, his replacement in organising the Busso Mid-week Rides. John Defilippo Vice-Captain Captain’s Report 2020/2021 (Late return) What a year but we got a better deal in WA with the Covid thing going around. It was good to see people putting their ideas forward which makes our club more flexible. Holland track, Norton run, AJS bikes, Broke inlet, Pemberton the list goes on as you make the club. But there is still room for people who want to do a run themselves share your favourite loop or places you think would be interesting for the club. As we are a motorcycle club and ride bikes all too easy, it’s good to see the Busselton Section getting bigger and doing more rides, with good roads down south as well. Mandurah Mob good to see they have a good crew and some new places to go always good to do different roads. Manjimup the Webby Run and the Christmas ride are still good. With doing other club events always good to see how they work. This is your club what you put in is what you get out. Your Club Captain David Lind Editors Report Nil Librarian’s Report Not a great deal to report, except I donated a cabinet to ease up the congestion of the books. A big thankyou to those who donated books and magazines to the library. Thankyou. Amanda Bernhardt. Property Officers Report At last year’s AGM, I stood right here and said that the past year has been remarkably and frustratingly quiet. Tonight, I am saying the same thing. Because many of our events were either altered or cancelled through Covid or bad weather, precious little has been going in or

out of the shed. Fortunately, mostly because of that reason, we still have everything we started the year with, and everything is now in good condition. As usual, the busy time was around the 2 Day Rally, when the shed looked decidedly empty for a few days, then everything came back, and things returned to normal, well, as normal as anything is nowadays. This is my final year as Property Officer, after I think 4 or 5 years spread over time in the job. I offer my thanks to all those members who have helped, and sometimes hindered my attempts to look after Club equipment and wish the incoming Property Officer the best of luck and enjoyment in the job. Thank You. Richard Clark Property Officer Treasurers Report. Faye Carn thanked Bert Sykes for assisting with setting up, explaining and guiding me through our various banking accounts and processes. Also, a tick of approval from our Auditors RWK Accountancy on submission of our Balance Sheet ending 31/05/2021.
