Revolution Movements

Salt Walk • Proposed a non- violent march protesting the British Salt Tax in

1930• Walked 240 miles journey from Sabarmati to Dandi• Started March 12,1930 with 78 men (23 days long)• Women weren’t allowed to march because Gandhi felt women

wouldn’t provoke law enforcers like their male counterparts• On April 5,1930 reached the coast• Against the law by picking up salt everywhere along the coast• A month later- Gandhi was arrested and thrown into prison• He was arrested almost a year

Non Co-operation Movement– Educational institutions were boycotted– Foreign goods were boycotted– People let go off their nominated seats in
