About The Play ‘The Purpose’ in the play highlights

Ekalavya’s ambition to become the greatest archer in the world.

The play is divided in two parts. The specific reason for the use of Myth in

Kailasam works were examined in first act.

It’s taken from the Mahabharata. Two character are main in the Play. Ekalavya & Arjuna

Ekalavya He was a Nishaada boy. He was fast Learner. When Guru Drona deny him to taught archery at that time he decided to self learning archery and he take a inspiration from the statue of Drona.

Arjuna Arjuna was prince of the Hastinapur. He was slow learner. Arjuna learning archery from Guru Drona.

Bheeshma He is the grandfather of the prince of Hastinapur. He loves Arjuna so much in the Myth also and in the play also because he can see the childhood in him. He is so tiered from his life.

Dronaachaarya He was Guru of Hastinapur’ prince. He teach to archery those who belong to Aryan community.

Theme of Subaltern In the original myth Eklvaya was asked to give Daxina, but here in T.P kailasam's “The purpose”,the sutdunt willingly decides to do so.

For the dignity of his Guru's promise Eklvayha gave his important part of body.

When Eklvaya saw his Guru's dilemma he dicided to presenthis right Thumb as Guru Daxina.

Symbola.Class Discrimination When Guru Drona deny to teach archery

because he was a Nishaada boy. He was taught to him those Who belong in Aryan Community.

If someone really has to potation and skill still they cannot come out because of Class discrimination.
