Pershing Auditorium is acoustically
perfect and features Guastavino
acoustical tile, a domed ceiling, and
all original or period-accurate décor.
The 26’ x 14’ stage is ideal for wedding
ceremonies, presentations, musical
and dance performances, and movie
showings. The auditorium has a
complete A/V system which includes a
15’ drop screen, HD projector, laptop
connection, and audio system.
The auditorium seats approximately 500
people: 450 in the three-section floor
seating, and 50 in the balcony. There are
six entrances, including two backstage.
The lower level has limited handicapped
accessibility at the back on both sides.
The auditorium is accessible through the
Grand Lobby on the main floor of the
War Memorial. Food and drink of any
kind are not allowed.
The Shrine Room is the crown jewel of
the Indiana War Memorial. The flag
and Star of Destiny hang over the
altar of consecration, which is not a
tomb but a commemoration of the
sacrifices made during World War I.
Measuring 60’ square x 110’ tall, the Shrine Room is
not included with All Interior Rental but can be left
open for viewing during any event. The use of the
Shrine Room as a rented venue is very limited based
on the nature of the event, but has been used for small
commemorative ceremonies, short and intimate wed-
dings, and small memorials. Food and drink are strict-
ly prohibited. Access is available off of the Grand Lob-
by via two large staircases and an elevator is available
for those with limited mobility.
The Grand Lobby is a favorite venue for
larger seated receptions and functions,
comfortably holding a maximum of 180
people. Measuring 23’ x 117’, the Grand
Lobby connects to Spruance Hall,
Shoup Hall, Pershing Auditorium, and
the West Hallway, and hosts the
entrance to both stairways up to the
Shrine Room. The only entrance to the
building is the Grand Foyer, which
leads straight into the Grand Lobby.
Because the Grand Lobby is wide open, it is
not ideal for speaking engagements due to
the echo. It is the perfect venue for a great
after-hours reception or cocktail party. This
room is great for your event’s vendor setup,
a buffet and seating area, or with high top
cocktail tables for a more casual hors
d’oeuvres and drink reception. Features
include marble floors and dark green
marble pillars throughout.
Shoup Hall is one of two mirror image
meeting spaces available. Shoup is on the
East side of the building and features an
attached kitchen area that may be used for
limited prep work. Measuring 24’ x 55’, Shoup
Hall features three doorways and connects
directly to the Grand Lobby and the West
Foyer. Doors can be left open to allow flow
into other areas of the building, or closed for
a more private gathering.
Shoup Hall can accommodate up to 80
people with lecture-style seating and up to
120 people with reception-style seating.
With an optional pull-down screen, portable
projector, and limited A/V capabilities,
Shoup Hall is perfect for receptions (with
catering stationed in the West Foyer),
meetings, reunions, parties, and exhibits.
Spruance Hall is the second of two mirror
image meeting spaces available. Spruance is
on the West side of the building but does not
have an attached kitchen. Measuring 24’ x
55’, Spruance Hall features two doorways
and connects directly to the Grand Lobby.
Doors can be left open to allow flow
into other areas of the building, or closed for
a more private gathering.
Spruance Hall can accommodate up to 80
people with lecture-style seating and up to
120 people with reception-style seating.
With an optional pull-down screen, portable
projector, and limited A/V capabilities,
Spruance Hall is perfect for smaller
receptions, meetings, reunions, parties, and
exhibits.
The West Foyer is a great add-on space
that is included with any interior venue
rental. Ideal for photo booths, catering
stations, or additional seating for up to
48 people at long tables. The West Foyer
is also a great space to put your bar and
cocktail tables while retaining Shoup
Hall for a seated dinner or meeting-style
setup.
Due to the echo, the West Foyer is not
recommended for speaking engagements or
large gatherings. Features of the space
include white marble floors, walls, and pillars,
as well as placards and engravings detailing
some of the history of the Indiana War
Memorial. Measuring 20’ x 33’, the West Foyer
is a nice add-on, particularly when using
Shoup Hall as both spaces flow directly into
each other through one doorway.
The Woodfill Boardroom is located within the
Indiana War Memorial administrative offices,
but is a great small meeting space or ‘green
room’ for other events. The conference table can
seat 14 comfortably, and the room can
accommodate an additional 16 chairs for a total
of 30 seats. An optional pop-up screen and
portable projector are also available for
presentations.
