Variety : Linea S795, Typica.

Harvest Time : May-August

Place and Region : Mt. Papandayan, Mt. Cikuray and Mt. Mandalagiri.SEMI DRY PROCESS

This process results in a brew that is heavy bodies, earthy and mildly acidic. This is a relatively new method of processing that is commonly used in Indonesia. Also known as the “wet hulled” or “semi-washed” process, this process involves wet grinding in which the skin of the coffee cherries are mechanically removed by a pulping machine. Afterwards, the mucilage may be washed off before the coffee beans are dried. In some cases, the muci-lage is not washed off and the coffee beans are allowed to sit for a day before being dried.

DRY PROCESS

The dry-process (also known as the natural method) produces coffee that is heavy in body, sweet, smooth and complex.

WETT PROCESS

Generally, the wet process involves washing the pulp of the coffee cherries to reveal the coffee beans. Wet processing is often used to reduce the acidi-ty in gourmet coffees; this results in a balanced coffee with a vibrant and almost fruity essence.

CIVET COFFEE

Known for it’s high aroma, smooth taste and low acidity – often quite sweet and very full in the cup – civet coffee is made with coffee beans that are retrieved from the excretion of an animal called the civet.

Any tea devotee knows that not all teas are created equal. Realizing this, we at BREW ME Tea perform extensive comparative tasting whenever we consider adding a new tea to our catalog. If it isn’t up to snuff, we simply won’t offer it. In addition, we meticulously manage our inventory of teas and store them in temperature controlled “cold” rooms.

We strive to offer only the best organic teas and herbs in the world! We select our inventory with quality, organic certifications, certified teas that represent classic manufacturing styles from around the world. Then we select the best organic variety within each style. As a result, we will opt for the organic certified option only. By limiting ourselves to organic certified teas and herbs only, we will occasionally opt to offer a style of tea or herb from a location that is not the traditional origin.

Our tea selections are more than tea,

It’s a story of passion and love.

We’d love it if you could help us share this story.

Praised as ‘green gold’ for centu-ries, this Balinese marvel is naturally cultivated in heavenly elevation of 3,500 feet and this Leaf combination is medium toasted to carry a gently steamed, softly sweet green tea.

This fine organic black tea hails from the Indonesia state of Angseri. The infusion boasts a bright body with tangy sweet-n-sour notes that evapo-rate quickly in the mouth and medium astringency.

White Peony, also known by the traditional name Bai Mu Dan, is a popular style of white tea made of young tea leaves and silvery unopened leaf buds. Our White Peony comes from our plantation in Bali. Distinguished by being plucked in “budsets” of one or two leaves and a bud, this tea has a sophisticated mouthfeel with a slightly stronger body than Silver Needle. A gentle and slow air-dry withering process results in a brilliant amber infusion with a honey-like viscosity and mild flavor that pairs well with food.

West Java, with its population of 46,3 million, is the most popu-lous of Indonesia’s provinces. It consists of 60% mountainous area with elevations between 500-3.079 meters above sea level. The mountain-ous Preanger region, also known as Priangan, covers several parts in West Java including Bandung, West Bandung, Subang and Garut. The word of Preanger is derived from a Sundanese expression meaning “the abode of the gods”.

The story of Java Preanger Arabica began all the way back in 1696 when West Java was chosen by the Dutch East Indies (VOC) to be the first location in Indonesia for coffee cultivation, at that time it was the first coffee cultivation place outside of Arabia and Ethiopia. This result-ed in the first export of Java Preanger coffee in 1711. Java Preanger coffee became so well-received, that the term “Java” gradually became synonymous with “coffee”, similar to referring to Champagne by its region.

Java Preanger coffee has a distinctive taste lent by the province’s long history of coffee cultivation. It is superior thanks to the use of a variety of coffee beans, which are able to adapt to the local environ-ment and create distinctive tastes. Until nowadays, coffee beans harvested from this mountainous area are often brought down to processing stations on scooters due to the steep roads, impossible for four-wheel drive vehicles. The high elevations, rainfall and cooler temperatures of the west side of the island give this coffee a taste that is much sweeter, and more herbal, than coffees grown on the east side.
