STOOL AND STORAGE

This concept represents the majority of the initial design criteria goals, and has an organic and ergonomic shape.

It opens the possibility to have more than two functions. This concept could be used as a stool, bookshelf, storage compartment or a table. A modular and inspiring look will allow the consumer to arrange it in a series of different ways.

The minimalistic shape would facilitate mass production options. It could be made of wood veneer for a more sophisticated look or it can be plastic molded to add color variation and playfulness for a classroom setting.

Nubi:

Materials:MDF, digital printed Plexiglass, flex-plywood,plastic netting, fluorencent light.

Concept:Inspired by the immensity of the sky and the natural light that it creates. I wanted to capture the different color hues and values of the sky throughout the day and bring them inside. Nubi shows the transition of colors, translucency, and reflection that the sky produces between the sun, clouds and moonlight.

Inspirational Words:- Time- Color temperature- Transparency- Translucency- Patterns- Color Waves- Artificial/Natural- Inside/Outside

Key AttributesOur goal is to identify the needs of small businesses that utilize a fleet of vehicles.

To gain a well rounded view of their needs, we will look at two different perspectives; the driver and the manager

Mail Pet is an in-home mailbox for each member of the family. Mail-Pet will expand to hold notes, candy, or gifts to be shared between family members. When an item is placed in Mail-Pet the expandable area will light up to alert the owner. Each Pet can be customized with colorful markers, notes, and accessories so each member can make their Mail-Pet unique.

Use your pet as a creative canvas to make your mailbox different to the rest of the family. Don’t limit yourself,

“ 3 out of 4 car seats are not used correctly

Every year, thousands of young children are killed or injured in

crashes, mainly because 3 out of every 4 children in child safety

seats are not properly secured, or even worse, not restrained at all.”

“Motor vehicle crashes

are the leading cause of

death for children from

3 to 14 years old.”Frontal and frontal offset crashes combine for about 72% of severe crashes. Side impacts are about 24%. Rear and rear offset crashes only account for about 4%.

All car seats rated by NHTSA meet Federal Safety Standards & strict crash performance standards

Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 3 to 6.

Mary, 29 Two children a 12 months old girl and a 3 years old boyOverly ProtectiveStay Home momMarried

Mary is an active stay-at-home mom who enjoys working on house projects. She normally does most of her errands while her husband is at home so he can watch the children while she is out and about. Mary thinks her baby carrier is too big and bulky for her to handle both children and any extra bags which makes running errands dif-ficult when she has both children with her.

Mary and her husband own two vehicles - a sedan and a pickup truck. Each one has a set of front facing seat carriers along with a booster chair because it is easier than having to move the car seat all the time. They also own a sling, a baby backpack and a rear-facing carrier that are stored in their closet because both of their children out-grew them. Ideally Mary is look-ing for a carseat that is cost-effective, adjusts to children’s size as they grow, and is easy to transport.

Lack Security, Monitoring (Behavior, Vitals, overall health)Too heavy, time consuming, uncomfortable, car seat expires, awkward handle, weight distribution.

Insecurity, frustration, impatience, unaware, preoccupation.

Problems

Emotions

How to design a car seat for families on the go?

How can it be easier to hold?

How can it be lightweight and still keep the infant safe?

How can the parents just use one hand or even have a free hand carrier?

How can it be more comfortable to carry and to lock inside the vehicle?

How can the parent better monitor their child while driving?

How can it be seamlessly integrated to the car and be synchronized with SYNC technology?

How can the child be placed in a 180 degree position and still have lumbar support during long trips?

Now What?
