Can “Thinking Big " Lead to Success? Can “Thinking Big " Lead to Success?Ever since I read David J. Schwartz's “The Magic of Thinking Big ", I wanted

to write on this topic. It's one of the best books I have come across which tells us ' how to set our goals high and then to exceed them ', in a nut shell, ' The Power of Thinking Big '.

The question is if Thinking Big accomplishes so much, why doesn't everyone think that way? The answer is simple, all of us, more than we recognize, are in the mid of lot of negative influence every day everywhere. And no wonder, our thinking is small, not big ! All around us is an environment that is trying to tug us, trying to pull us down. It has often been said that ' bigger is not always better '. Some might say it's true when considering the current economic situation, but I feel

it is never true when it comes to new ideas or personal dreams where thinking big is always better. We can achieve success only by believing we can succeed. I have seen several young executives joining for new jobs. Each of them "wishes", someday he will achieve success by reaching the top. But majority of these young people simply don't have the belief that they can reach the top and they don't reach the top. But a small number of these young people really believe they will succeed. They approach their work with the “I am going to the top “attitude and they reach the top. What differentiates these two sets of people is their attitude. I read a survey recently on the power of thinking big. It says Seventy-five percent of respondents whom they approached agreed that they don't think big enough about their work or business, and of those that do have big dreams, 75% of respondents indicated that they lack the follow-through in order to make them happen. Further, over 85% of respondents noted that they don't know where to start or what steps to take to make them happen.

So friends, let's have big ideas / dreams and say them out loud. Let's visualize ourselves successfully bringing our idea or dream to life. Think, what will we look like? How will we feel? Where we will be? Let's establish goals for how we will go about achieving them and determine what action steps will help us to move forward. And above all, let's select one action step and do it today! When it comes to thinking big, remember the words of Mother Theresa, "The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind. Think big anyway." So, what are we waiting for? Joining you in THINKING BIG.

The Role of Social Media in RecruitmentThe Role of Social Media in Recruitment

It's been said for some time now that a key component of any job hunt is getting the social media side of things done well. This includes making sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date, writing a blog and generally getting your name out there online. I still have my doubts about how potent this approach is, especially for positions that job hunters actively apply for. I suspect that when agents and recruiting managers have a CV to consume they lack the time or inclination to do much research on their interviewees via social media.

New research from North Carolina State University reveals that social networking is incredibly valuable at finding new jobs for people who aren't necessarily looking for one, which is referred to in the study as 'informal recruitment'. This study found that over 1 in 4 of all jobs filled in the US were done so via this form of informal recruitment. Perhaps the most interesting finding is that this ratio increases significantly as the salary of the position rises. In other words, the higher the salary is at stake, the more likely the position is to be filled informally. The researchers have broken this down into a ratio. They found that the odds of a job being filled by social networks increased by 2% for every dollar paid per hour for the position being filled. To put that into perspective, a job paying $100,000 a year is 86% more likely to be filled informally than a minimum wage job paying $14,500 a year.Of course you will be rightly saying that personal networks have always been valuable. After all, the saying "it's not what you know, but who you know" wasn't coined at the dawn of the social media age. It does serve to reinforce the importance of making sure that plenty of people are well aware of your skills and experience, and networking online is a fantastic way of doing that. So if you're not currently building up your personal brand, be it offline or online, there's never been a better time to start than now.

Some students are hard-working, responsible and eager to pass their exams and yet, they don't.

Some students are talented and even gifted and yet they fail to reflect this academically.

Why is that ?

Our theory is that hard work or/and talent are sometimes not good

enough.

You need a methodology and also a true understanding of how to develop your potential.

You need to become your own coach and build up a real success strategy.

You need an in-depth analysis of your whole approach.

You need creativity and self-discipline at the same time.

You need both hard work and enough sleep.

Find the right strategy which will give you strength, energy and determination.

The slightest little detail matters.

And remember :

man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
