Comply with valid regulations and operating instructions.
WARNING
Non-compliance with the definition of correct use
The functional safety can be disabled if the information regarding correct use is not complied with.
Carefully comply with the information provided regarding correct use.
WARNING
Functional safety without conformity assessment
The geared motor is designed for installation in a machine. The operating company is responsible for defining the safety level and its actual implementation in the machine.
Evaluate the conformity of the machine before commissioning.
WARNING

The motor with functionally safe encoder is equipped with thermal motor protection, which must be evaluated.
Use the geared motor with motor protection evaluation.
WARNING
Resonance effects in operation
Resonance effects can occur as a result of the converter or comparable power controlling devices.
If you optimize the controller parameters, e.g. using the appropriate current setpoint filtering, then you can rule out resonance effects such as these.
For the geared motor with the encoder, Siemens AG assumes responsibility that the directives of functional safety are complied with. The safety-relevant connection elements are sealed before delivery.
Also take into account the applicable national and regional legislation, standards and regulations.
If a geared motor with encoder is used for safety-relevant applications together with a brake, then lower maximum permissible air gaps for the brake apply than for standard applications, see Technical specifications of the brake (Page 22). ...then lower ....for the brake than for standard applications apply, see...
To ensure that the geared motor is not damaged:
● Do not step on the geared motor.
● Do not place any objects on the geared motor.
● Do not place the geared motor down on the fan cover.
