The irony of using an apostrophe to make a word plural 3 times, using a

comma splice, and using the wrong "their" in an otherwise awesome

infographic about my future job hurts quite a bit.

Really?

I find it ironic that someone who chooses literacy as a career

path seems to misunderstand portions of it.

I saw 4 apostrophes used, 3 of which were used to imply

possession and the fourth was a contraction, so they were all

properly used. The only apostrophe misuse was leaving the

one off of "McDonald's". The only usage of "Their" was also

correct; however, I did notice the superfluous comma in the

opening paragraph.

My apologies... apparently this image has been updated since

the comment I replied to, and since the original comments

made no references to the mistake locations, I had to assume

they were pointing out correct usages as incorrect.

This infographic has at least 3 punctuation errors that I can find. In the 3

cases that I can find, "librarian's" (the possessive) is used instead of

"librarians" (the plural). Not so good for the "mastersineducation.org" site.

:-)

Hi Will,

That was a mistake on our part (oBizMedia) and not

mastersineducation.org. Thanks for pointing it out. We will

make sure moving forward this doesn't happen again.

Please don't encourage illiteracy. The usage of "Librarian's" in

the title of this infographic was correct.

The title could have read "The Worth of a Librarian", so it was

used correctly to imply possession.

Chris, the errors were in the content of the original

infographic. They appear to have been corrected.

There's a remaining typo at the bottom: "Infographic bough to you by:"

Clearly, editing is not a strong point. On the other hand, it's delightful to

see that there are so many people around who care about misplaced

apostrophes and the like. Now, if I could just educate the world about "lie"

vs "lay", and the hortatory subjunctive...

Whoever is making corrections: look at the opening sentence and the

phrase "a mousy book worms." There are two errors there. Human editors

are still better than spell checkers imho.

Does this tell us we should be revamping and investing more in our

synagogue libraries? I think so. Does this suggest we begin gathering data

on how our members use our library and ask them what would make them

use it more? I am certain.

Imho it's interesting, that the only thing of interest among those, who are

writing a comment down here, are the mistakes in grammar and spelling.

What about the displayed facts?

I think it is not clear, to which librarians the various numbers refer.
