BEST PRACTICESPERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (PEP) MODEL

Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management in the journey of excellence has developed Performance Enhancement Program (PEP) Model for its students. PEP consists of three major components namely; Project Based Learning (PBL), Value Based Learning (VBL) and Personality Development (PD).

1. Project-based learning: Projects are usually based around real world problems, which give students a sense of responsibility and ownership in their learning activities.

i) Live Projects: A live project is an excellent technique to nurture students’ academic, interpersonal, critical, communication, managerial and technical skills in real time environment.

ii) Skill Development: The institute conducts workshops to enrich various skills such as technical skills, stock market operations, etc. which employers precisely look for a different kind of skill in their potential employees.

iii) Add-On Courses: Job-oriented add-on programs are provided to students which is an extra-edge over their knowledge.

2. Value-Based Learning (VBL): Imbibing the qualities of good conduct, self-confidence and high values helps the students lead a dignified life. The institute provides strong academic knowledge but also make every effort to make our students physically, mentally, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually strong and lead a virtuous life.

3. Personality Development (PD): The objective of the PD is to

build self-confidence, enhance self-esteem and improve overall personality of the students. It aims at grooming the students through sensitizing them about proper behavior, socially and professionally, in formal and informal circumstances.

MENTORING

Young people are growing up in a world where they feel under enormous pressure for performing outstanding at every sphere. Many experience ongoing stresses at different levels. Student requires guidance and support to perform well in current competitive world and to face challenges driven by the social order and grow as better individuals. Mentoring system is meant for the solution oriented support and helps students resolve their issues through counseling and motivation. The mentoring system intends to help the students to cope up with stress and pressure due to tough competition and challenges they face.

ACTIVITY CLUBS

The various activity clubs of the institute provide a platform to the students to showcase and nurture their skills, talent and knowledge. It is very important for students to utilize their knowledge and apply in their respective fields. With this motto eight clubs have been formed in Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management, Finance Club, Marketing Club, HR Club, IT Club, Photography Club, Literary Club, Robotics Club and Mathematics Club. The whole educational system from elementary to tertiary level has been collapsed during the lockdown period of the unprecedented pandemic not only in India but across the globe. The institute without delay adopted online teaching-learning modes for studies and subsequent semester examinations of the students.

It is rightly said ‘Challenges bring Opportunities’ and we have proved it. As the aftermath of this crisis, online education became a pedagogical shift from traditional method to the modern approach of teaching-learning from classroom to Zoom, Google Meet from personal to virtual and from seminars to webinars.

Faculties developed their action plans for online teaching; they started preparing e-materials as per the syllabus, taking online classes as per time table, after taking online classes, study materials being uploaded by them. An Audio-Visual studio has been developed for preparing video lectures by the faculty. It was a pedagogical shift from traditional method to the modern approach of teaching-learning from classroom to Zoom, Google Meet and from personal to virtual. Great efforts were put by the faculties for making the online classes more interactive and interesting by organizing fun activities like Quiz, movie review, book review competitions etc.

The Institute has organized Yoga and breathing practice sessions for the students to boost their immunity and channelize them towards healthy practices. Various

activities and competitions have been organized to sharpen and refine their skills regularly even during lockdown.

Institute has initiated ‘Mission Connect’ to reach to each and every student and parents a lso to support them psychologically, emotionally, morally and to continuously encourage them through the challenging times of pandemic.

Institute has organized all its activities as per Academic and Activity calendar without bar of Pandemic. To name a few from that are International Conference, National Conference, National level Faculty Development Program, Induction program-Abhisanskaran, Srijan, Alumni meet-Confluence, Samavesh, Chanakya, Nav Udyami and many more in virtual mode. Great luminaries were invited to encourage and motivate students, Such as Padma Shri Dr. Raman R. Gangakhedkar, Padma Shri Prof(Dr.) Manindra Agrawal, AICTE Chairman Mr. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Mr. Yogi Sriram - Advisor to CEO & MD, Group Human Resource, L & T ltd., Prof.(Dr.) Ugur Guven, United Kingdom, Prof. (Dr.) Justin Paul, USA, Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Kumar, Poland, television actress Ms. Shubhangi Atre, etc. who filled students with positivity.

Always go for knowledge while learning, Marks doesn't matter. Colleges are great places to try new activities, from rowing and swimming to coding clubs and hackathons; there are lots of things you can try now that you wouldn’t have had access to before. So turn your low days into new beginnings and get stuck into something you’ve always wanted to try. Have a sense if humor and willingness to "Fit in Crowd" No Matter how difficult is the challenge in life, you just have to tough it out and resolve the issue.

I am thankful to all the faculty members of the College for their continuous efforts and support. Apart from excellent academic experience, I also gained the benefits of being a part of Cultural Student' body. I cherish every moment spent at SVIM. My MCA journey at SVIM has been a very interesting and awesome journey.

Abhishek RajputSenior ConsultantAll State Private Limited MCA - 2013

Doing MCA from SVIM was a turning point in my life. This was the place where I met some of the brightest minds, my classmates, seniors and always inspiring faculty members. Here I learned that merely dreaming is not enough one has to put heart and soul in order to chase them. I also learned how to learn from failures and how to get up after you are knocked down. SVIM provided me with the perfect environment to shape up my professional career. I am thankful to all my faculties and supporting staff from SVIM to help me chase my dream.

Anshul Nigam Manager, Nextgen healthcare, BangaloreMCA - 2006

SVIM is a world in itself; it has made me stronger and took me step ahead for being an independent person. The series of expert lectures along with such a strong academic curriculum is second to none. The events that I took part helped me to grow my confidence level. SVIM has given me wings to fly with help of my higher education. Academic excellence is really important here. But institute gave us a bunch of Extra Curriculum activities so that we could be trained for the real battle in market. Teachers here are the best life couch. The best part here is Ambience; it was like a second home to us. We really learnt a lot of things here which made us stronger and smarter. In all we learnt to live a life.

Special thanks to the training and placement cell for nurturing my talent and bringing up the best placements and opportunities. I am extremely thankful for being a part of SVIM family.

SVIM has been a part of my career wherein I specialized in Finance through their Post-graduation program in the year 2018. It has been an amazing learning experience with highly qualified faculties. I developed several pertinent skills in this institute which will definitely prove its worth in professional workspace.

The teaching fraternity has been motivating and providing with sufficient opportunities to explore and perform in order to excel in what we are good at. I think practical knowledge is more important the theoretical one, and this place has proven the same with its activity schedules. I would like to thank each of them for shaping us into future warriors. It has been a great journey from being an aspirant to actually facing real challenges among the leaders in the segment of Finance.
