What is CACDP?

CACDP is a registered charity which aims to advancecommunication between deaf and hearing people. Wedo this as a UK awarding body, offering a wide range ofqualifications, from Level 1 to Level4, including:

Britishand IrishSignLanguage(BSUISL);Deafand DeafblindAwareness;CommunicationTacticswith Deafand DeafblindPeople;Communicationwith Deafand DeafblindPeople;Professionalqualificationsin Lipspeaking,Notetaking,ElectronicNotetakingandSpeechto TextReporting.

CACDP qualifications are accredited by theQualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and areon the National Qualifications Framework. Coursesleading to CACDP qualifications are offered at over 700colleges and centres around the UK.

How are the ISL units assessed?

Unit ISL101: Internally assessed by your tutor.

Units ISL102 and ISL103: Assessment will be carried

out by your tutor, but will be externally marked by aCACDP assessor.

Level 1 ISLHomework Video (for Students)Thisvideo is designed for Levell students of IrishSign Language(lSL).It is designed to help in the deployment of receptive skillsanduin the understanidng of non manual features of ISL.Twenty fourshort stories are presented by Deaf people at a level and speedappropriate for Levell students. After each story, the student isasked several questions.
