The Big Picture
:/
The Big Picture
What’s the plan for Room 5 & 6?
Central Idea:
Technological change impacts on the way communities function.
Lines of Inquiry:
● Technological advance as a driver of change;
● Compare and contrast technological use within different communities;
● The impact of information technology on education.
Summative Assessment
Give an oral presentation about how technology impacts on how our school community functions. Present to teachers, parents, school council, other classes etc.
It's about the learning not the device...● The unit is about how using a
device can enhance learning within the classroom
● It is important that students have a working knowledge of their device and it’s operating system
Possible Devices● iPad● Other tablets● iPod Touch● Laptop● Kindle● Other technology that can assist them
with their work

Any parents wish to share with students how technology has impacted on their workplace?
Why a B.Y.O.T. approach?
❏ Pro learning, not pro device❏ Start from a position of familiarity❏ Cost benefits (home and school)❏ Keeps pace with technological change❏ Not compulsory❏ Close parent / school connections❏ Teaching responsible digital citizenship
