Why Engineering?

Information Technology @ Tec-NQAfter participating in this dynamic two year program, you’ll walk away with:

• Hands-on experience in programming to be able to code in at least 4 mainstream business languages (C#, Javascript, php and SQL) and be able to integrate user interfaces with online databases

• Create a business application• Hands-on experience in systems

administration - get to manage a small networkandconfigureasmallbusinessserver

• Solid understanding and practical experience of business data (including GIS) and how to prepare it for business decision making

• Hands on experience in building PCs and troubleshooting hardware issues

• Learn to train users• Real experience meeting with real business

owners and analysing IT requirements and implementing real business solutions

This program will ensure Tec-NQ IT students are skilled in the basics and with a solid platform to develop their skills in the area of their interest in this diverse industry.

Our dedicated IT program incorporates academic training to achieve a Queensland CertificateofEducation(QCE),trainingdelivered by an industry professional and work experience.

In 2015 Tec-NQ organised over 8,000 days of work experience for our students, 96% of Year 12 students achieved the Queensland CertificateofEducation(QCE),andwesecured apprenticeships for 39% of qualifying students.

Tec-NQ is different. Our unique program deliverstradetrainingandeducationfivedaysa week. Our trainers are sourced directly from industry and we have an engaged network for over 600 employers.

In December 2015 Tec-NQ opened a Boarding Facility on Bowen Road to accommodate out-of-town students.
