About Islam4kids Madrassa
The Madrassa class transfers basic values & principles of Islam
in a fun & enjoyable approach making learning
& understanding easy for little ones.
Lessons includes Islamic arts & crafts,
play & educational activities, re-inforcing the knowledge build
as well as support motor skills development.
Interactive participation is encouraged
as children learn best when actively involved & enthused.
Classes are conducted once weekly.
Choose between a Friday or a Saturday class that is convenient & suitable.
3-4 yr old class is only offered Saturdays.
The duration per class is 2 hours 45 min.
Basic Islamic knowledge is imparted in the areas of Fiqh, Tauhid,
History, Ettiquette, Arabic, short Surah memorisation
as well as Duas & Surah/Quran reading.
These classes caters for 3-13 years old.

Day Structure
A typical Madrassa day would comprise of the following,
not necessarily in the same order.
Fiqh & Ettiquette will be covered from Feb-Jun & consolidated thereafter,
Tauhid & History will be concentrated on Jul-Nov.
Story time comprises of History lessons along with other general
Islamic and moral stories.

Imperative information for parents
Facilitators & learning groups
Main faciitators are assisted by junior assistants.
Facilitators have attained Islamic Tertiary Education & have previous teaching
experience.
Learning groups are kept small to provide for personalised attention & ensure learner-
progress.
Punctuality
It is imperative for learners to arrive on time to ensure that the proposed preparation for
the day is adhered to.
Similarly it is appreciated that learners are fetched timeously.
Dress
Learners may wear appropriate Islamic casual dress or a thawb with an appropriate
headgear [burqa or scarf] for girls.
Break
Learners are encouraged to bring along a snack for a short break during lessons, please
conform to a healthy snack, too much sugar in luxuries & fizzy cooldrink are strongly dis-
couraged.
Learning evaluation & progress
Islam4kids follows a continuous weekly assessment system.
Younger learners are tested mostly orally with higher forms, both oral & written.
Parents are communicated to on a regular basis re learner progress via email & a
learner message book.
Islam4kids Madrassa
Learning materials
Stationery including activity books, notes & worksheets, surahs, craft materials, etc are
provided.
Reports
Reports are issued twice yearly.
21st or 22nd June & 30th November.
Newsletters
We have introduced a newsletter in 2012 but only ran 3 issues, we envisage to continue a
newsletter every 2 months. Pictures of learner activities will be published together with
learner submissions of drawings, poems, etc.
Children’s Day
A children’s day will take place Saturday 30th November. A brief presentation will take
place from learners. Certificates & gifts are awarded to each learner.
Parents involvement & commitment
Parents are encouraged to check & sign the learner message book weekly.
Memorisations & consolidation of all work will be done in class, but we strongly rely on
further consolidation be done at home.
Parents to supervise learners to ensure that homework given is completed.
Surah lessons are especially emphasised to be revised almost daily or every second day
if day structures at home are too hectic, 7 minutes daily or 14 minutes every alternate
day.

Overview
• Islamic craft classes are held Saturdays from 10am until 12pm,
at Masjidul Quds, Gatesville.
• Costs per class R55 with all materials being provided.
• There are different themes throughout the year, such as salaah,
ramdhaan, hajj, etc

roster.
Islam4kids School holiday craft classes
Overview
• School Holiday craft classes are held Monday to Thursdays
during school holidays from 10am until 12pm, in Belgravia Road,
Crawford.
• Will be held in June, September & December.
• Costs per class R55 with all materials being provided.
2013 rosters will be available a month prior to the holiday season to
be viewed on www.islam4kids.co.za or email [email protected]
requesting the school holiday craft class roster.
Islam4kids Annual Kids Pre-Ramadhaan Activity Day
Overview
• It comprises of Ramadhaan craft activities, nasheeds, poems &
rhymes all around the theme of Ramadhaan.
• Kids receive a goodie bag which includes a Ramadhaan
Kareem balloon, a fasting badge, an activity book & lots more.
• Islam4kids invited 16 girls from the Habibia Children’s Home in
2012 to participate in the activity day.
• Date for 2013 is, Saturday 29th June, venue & time not con-
firmed.
• Cost R150 for a duration of 4 hours.
