Infosys Technologies Ltd. was started in

1981. Infosys first client was Reebok. Infosys hired its first set of employees in

1982 from Its revenue raised from Rs 1.2 million to

Rs 145.2 million during the period from1981-1989.

In 1993 Infosys went in for an IPO at apremium of Rs 85 for a face value of 

Rs.10/share. Since then,Infosy focused on T&D of 

human resource and shared company’swealth with its employees.

Each year Infosys planned to hire 70% freshgraduates and 30% experienced professionals. Recruitment was done through campus

interviews, advertisements in newspapers etc. These experienced professionals were given vital

positions like domain experts, domainconsultants, technical architects.

In the year 2005-06,fortune wrote-”securing aposition at Infosys is more competitive than

gaining admission to Harvard”(1% out of 1.3million applications).

like ongoing process. Initially fresh graduates were trained on new

processes & technologies, later on projectmanagement, project development programs

followed by LDP’s.

Nearly 7-8% of annual revenue is spenton training.

In 1991 education & researchdepartment was established.
